I feel for you mate, I would be seething. You were only trying to do the right thing, anyone can see that, though may have inadvertently breached a rule that for this game wasn’t clear anyway.

The bad news is that the appeal will be heard by the same team that operated VAR in the Spurs game ….. based on which the ban will probably be increased!

The time will be rigidly enforced by Albion ticket office staff. Anyone not using the turnstiles at the designated time will be refused entry and given a ban.

That is a really interesting point. So if you know the seat number of someone you don’t like …..

This is all very draconian. People put up with it, just, when the team is doing well and tickets are harder to get. It’s far less easy to be so controlling on such things when things aren’t going so well and the ground doesn’t sell out, which will happen one day to all except the biggest clubs.

Went up on the special train that seemed to snake around London before stopping at Highbury and Islington. Remember being crammed in on that terrace a long time before the kick off and being grateful for having a strong bladder!

Airline style seat belts would work better, and this could be better policed with instructions given on the scoreboards. Maybe get an airline to sponsor the announcements to bring in a bit of extra revenue.

I have seen a few games there on various trips, but not for a while now. They used to let you onto the outfield at the MCG to kick a footie around at one time which was great. Sat next to this guy on a flight from Melbourne to Hobart once, didn’t really know he was such a legend at the time...
