    [Politics] Brexit

I find those people that hate asylum seekers, also hate Foreign aid, but there is this weird benefit of having asylum seekers for those people, in that we take the cash used to support people on asylum claims from the foreign aid budget, so a chunk of the money marked as foreign aid actually...

I would explore the issues of a UK politician having a Jewish spouse with them, before reminding them that Suellas husband is Jewish.

    [Politics] Inheritance Tax

Yes, but if there was an incentive through IHT rules or other scheme to downsize, more would do it. At the moment there is a further disincentive through IHT rules.

    [Politics] Inheritance Tax

Single people living alone in 3 and 4 bed houses is not a good use of the existing housing stock, I grant you that inertia and accumulated possessions is a major reason for people not downsizing, but the ability to pass on more of your wealth to your kids is another, freeing up family homes for...

    [Politics] Inheritance Tax

I think it's a bad idea too, for a number of reasons, for one it adds to housing problems, with older folk sometimes hanging on to a large family home when they could downsize to something more suitable for them, and free up a family sized home, because if they leave cash rather than property it...

    [Politics] Inheritance Tax

My point is, the tax is on the estate, not the beneficiaries, which can mean that an only child could receive up to £1M that has not been taxed, whereas another deceased's estate, without any residential property, with many offspring as beneficiaries, could pay considerable tax, though each...

    [Politics] Inheritance Tax

if there is one group of people that don't need the money, its dead people. What seems a bit unfair is it's the estate that is taxed, not the recipients, an only child can inherit a large lump tax free, 6 children and grandchildren named in a will could recieve a small amount each that has been...

[Music] 10 years of Cover versions that absolutely SPANK the originals .......... over to you

It's coming up, you are going to hear the original everywhere, and get sick of it, this is the way it should be heard.

[Music] 10 years of Cover versions that absolutely SPANK the originals .......... over to you

This must be in the thread already, but listening to the original on "Best Song You Have Heard Today" put it in my mind. Legends like the Kinks, Iggy Pop, Otis Redding, and Toots and the Maytals have all done it, but this incoherent version is THE one.

[Music] The Best “Super Group” ever assembled?

I think the song was the work of Midge Ure and Bob Geldolf, everyone else just turned up and recorded.

[Music] The Best “Super Group” ever assembled?

Depends on your criteria, loads of great bands formed of musicians with previous success, Foo Fighters for example. If you can work it backwards, how about a band that had Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, all unknown before they formed The Yardbirds

[Albion] What kind of fan are you?

Just a potty mouth these days, and I try to curb that depending on age and gender of those in ear shot, have never luzzed lager randomly, nor sung Zaha song, however, it was not like that in the 80's. Harry Roberts was my friend, away fans were going to get their f***ing heads kicked in, and a...

[Politics] The Right Honourable Suella Braverman. KC MP **Sacked 13/11**

I believe The Buddha was from a wealthy family, but chose to give that life up and be a homeless person essentially, begging for food. Not sure if anyone gave him a tent to enable his lifestyle choice. Compassion, kindness, and non attachment are big themes, there must be a religion she is...
