Apologies if I came over all Mainwairing-like, it’s just that we are fighting a never ending battle with bass poaching down here in the harbour which we run as a sporting fishery. It’s a subject that really presses my buttons, so to speak.

You’re right, I’d missed the earlier start for this season. This is particularly embarrassing as I actually employ the bailiff’s for our local harbour.

Catching and eating a bass out of season really isn’t a perfect meal in my eyes.
