On a related topic, we had bought tickets to see this on the Saturday night beforehand, the last show of the tour in its spiritual home!

As we didn’t get Villa tickets, not sure if we are going to go...
For those of us without a ticket, is this game likely to be on TV?
This site suggests that the games selected for coverage that day are still tbc, potentially?

I read somewhere that in August it will be 10,000 days since Villa won a trophy. That’s why they need to bang on about their ‘glorious’ history (better than ours admittedly but then we don’t have the arrogance to go with it).
Errr, no! The whole Midlands? Villa are not the whole Midlands, but they are definitely the one club that fans of all the other bigger West Midlands clubs + Coventry all despise. The only buzz is the hope that the world’s biggest club somehow balls it up.
Never met Villa fan yet who isn’t ‘very, very confident’ about everything. It’s in their DNA.
I remember my grandfather, who was a Villa supporter, proudly saying the same in the 1970s when they were in the old third division with us!!
Tickets will be like gold dust I would think. This is Albion in Europe, potentially - it’s never happened before and may never happen again, even though we would like to think it will. Whilst appreciating that money isn’t limitless, this is one of those once in a lifetime things that you would...
I used to get to Javea every year for about 10 years and then my brother in law rather selfishly sold his nice place near the port. Used to get up to see Valencia play whenever I could so sort of adopted them as my Spanish team but they could certainly do with the support at the moment!

I was there that day. I recall being stood on the East Terrace. I remember that the pitch was being replaced and had all been dug up, and the picture seems to show it was just soil there so would back up that this was the promotion celebration bash on that day which was indeed a Sunday...
I have seen 2 internationals and a club game there in the last 6 months. It is now being demolished to make way for something more suitable for internationals. The new stadium will only hold about 8,000, but that’s more than 1/5 of the population!
11 - some of the questions were a bit misleading. The Eintracht Frankfurt one is the old stadium as the new one is fully enclosed (I have been to it) - hence I guessed another one, knowing that fans there are not on an open terrace In the current stadium!
I saw Olympiakos v Ajax there a few years ago, 80,000 crammed in, about 10,000 seemed to just climb over a wall to get in and lots of unsafe standing going on! One of the maddest atmospheres I have been in.
I used to love it on that corner when they had the old fashioned poster showing what the next few home games were going to be. I’m sure someone must have a picture of that somewhere, seems a bit old hat now but it was always exciting to see what was coming up!
I’ll help you out a bit and say that I am not really calling for these things to happen, I was just being a little bit ironic, but I think that went over your head! Try thinking of the same post with a smilie attached, that may help.
Pointing out (tongue in cheek = another form of irony) some...
