I'll be riding my bike from Redcar to the Riverside and hoping to find somewhere safe to lock it up. The local news reports about the significance of the match are getting a little wearing now!

Don't think I'd really like it if the whole world was jumping on Albion's bandwagon if we had achieved something like that ! Would regulars on here be able to cope with all the JCLs ?
The youth in question was standing next to me when they came and carted him off. I didn't think he protested too much at the time, but having said that, the "flare" came from a couple of rows behind me.
I think it is quite a pleasant place and, as a cyclist, I love the carefree biking with subways to avoid all the roundabouts. The football club, despite it's dubious origins, seems like a friendly and enthusiastic one. Good stadium - but must be like a morgue without a decent away following.
I bet the chap on the right hand side, fourth row back, in front of the woman with the massive titfer felt a right plonker - he forgot to wear his hat !
The disaster at Bolton is covered in Stanley Matthews autobiography (The Way it Was) - an excellent insight into football pre-1960s. Matthews was playing in the match. In fact many of the massive crowd had come to see him in action.
Shouldn't Baldock be credited with the second goal ? There don't appear to be any TV views of it from behind either goal, but it didn't seem to be going wide before it deflected off Cooper.
1964-5 Championship (Div 4) Season:
21 Nov Wrexham (h) 5-1
27 Nov Tranmere (a) 2-4

I was at the 2 home games. 6 of those goals were scored by Bobby Smith.
