I agree with players blooded in, fewer injuries and some additions we would be a better team next season. But the unknown is who leaves - Fati won't be here, Mitoma unlikely, Estupinan i expect to be in demand, Lallana and Milner could retire, and March likely out for most of next season...
I honestly think he'd be the perfect candidate. Its a little wearing knowing we're a stepping stone club and if a manager has success he'll be off. Potter has failed at a big club and thus could easily be in for the long haul at his new club. Thinking Emery at Villa.
I disagree with this conclusion about RDZs comments. I have always felt that RDZ is stating the clubs policy to the press, and that Barber is reiterating that RDZ understands the clubs vision and is sharing it.
RDZ doesn't need to change Brightons policy to achieve what he wants in football...
2011 was pretty good, smashing League 1 on way to the title, those wins against Peterborough and Charlton, 6 out of 6 in March, followed by saying goodbye to Withdean and hello to the Amex, Buckley and Vicente, winning at Fratton Park. That was a good year :)
Brighton going 9th, 6th, and well on course for another top ten finish, whilst selling Caicedo, Cucurella, Trossard, Bissouma, MacAllister and White is at least supporting the hypothesis that you can sell the best players and finish top 10.
For me we should play to our strengths. We have most of our centre backs fit and all of our centre midfield fit. So let's play loads of them. 3-5-2, Dunk, van Hecke, Igor at the back, and five of Gross, Gilmour, Dahoud, Baleba, Hinsh, Moder. Buonanotte and Pedro up front.
Yes, agreed. I think Brentford have found themselves in that position, didn't have the best start, had lots of injuries and now find themselves very much in the relegation mix.
Turned that on in the second half with Villa leading 2-0, and decided that Villa really did need to be taken seriously as title candidates. They then proceeded to completely implode, so i guess they're not after all
Straightforward? There's four really good sides in the league, and Spurs are keeping pace with them. Yes Newcastle aren't as good as last year and Chelsea and United are continuing to be shite, but Liverpool, Villa and Spurs are a lot better and we're a weaker team even without the injuries...
But also the way we play we tend to concede very good chances on the break. When those goals go in they change games. A great shot stopping keeper keeps us in games longer. We have to get clean sheets to move up the table.
Kind of laughable that goal being disallowed, but that is where VAR is just trying to find a reason to disallow every goal. After the foul on the keeper six different Sheffield players touched the ball before a Villa player got it and it was finally crossed to Bailey
