Tale of two Cities and Captain Corelli‘s Mandolin. Both were recommended to me and both very difficult to get into.
Each to their own but I found Catch 22 and excellent read.
Most expensive meal was €135 per head for an eight-course tasting menu in a Michelin star vegetarian restaurant in Lisbon. With drinks and service charge it came to about £400 for the two of us. As a one off, it was nice to have done for a special occasion but in all honesty, I would have...
I've not been since 1990/91 but I don't suppose it has changed much. Good banter between both sets of supporters although there are always some who take it too far. Someone will try to stack 50 plastic glasses and the stewards will intervene. Someone will chuck a half drunk pint into the air...
Is there really a large group of women who object to transgenderism or is it that they object to transgender athletes taking the place of CIS female ones?
I think it's already been mentioned but most clubs are not out of town which means people have choice outside the ground making it easier to avoid the (usually) awful choices inside the ground. That said, some clubs do get it right if you look at Footie Scran on Twitter/X although mostly away...
I suspect that, if found guilty, they will get a large points deduction (70-80 points?) that will effectively relegate them.
Unfortunately one relegation isn't enough in my book, if they are guilty on all or most of the charges. they should be relegated out of the league.
They should also...
Got to be Palmer, more often than not he was the only player who seemed to be trying for Chelsea. A shame as without him, they would have been in the bottom half of the table.
Good that it's not voted on by the public, otherwise it's just whoever has the biggest fan base.
£30 million would be including a Chelsea tax. In real terms he is probably worth less than half of that.
If he's on low wages (presumably he is) and doesn't want to leave, I don't see any advantages in selling him unless the Gaffa doesn't think he will fit his style of play.
Yet, when they found a 16 year old with a knife on the way to football, he got a "Youth Referral Order, with £40 costs and a £22 victim surcharge." That's what needs to change...
Fair play to Tommy and co. If it wasn't for them, I would never have heard of the Green Party fella. Just the sort of local politician that we need, seen sorting out the bins in that video.
£1.35 million seems excessive but a lot less than many Premier League players who seemingly do a lot less for their pay. If it's the going rate, or below the going rate then what is the alternative? Perhaps we can employ more ex WSL players, who are used to being paid substantially less?
Wimbledon beating Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup Final.
Liverpool were only six places above them in the old First Division table but it was by 33 points and Liverpool had only lost two or three times all season.
My first choice would be Eddie Howe but I suspect Newcastle wont let him go so it will be Lee Carsley.
Not keen on Potter but happy to be proved wrong!
