Duffy's place is not under any threat at all, he's not a good passer of the ball but he can pick out Stephens just fine. If we continue to play 4-3-3 next season, I'm sure our core will remain the same with Ryan, Duffy, Dunk and Stephens - no investment needed there at all. Our starting full...
We've discussed this before and I agree Guinness Boy. I think the lack of actual tactics cost us on more than one occasion, all this "we play one way" stuff is fine on the assumption that the players are working hard enough and getting the results. Essentially, our win at Palace was absolutely...
Used to mean nothing to me too - just a standard day but limited availability for a holiday day. Nowadays, however, no expectation to work them. Whole new world.
He played a full season in his natural position, and all he managed was 2 goals and a handful of assists. He's the weak link for me. Playing him in his strongest position meant not playing either Jahanbakhsh or March in their favoured position and I don't think he justified it with his output.
Below average would be my target, initially. And there aren't too many, not really. The only players I'd be looking to get rid of are Bong, Knockaert, Hemed and Steele. Everyone else is fine, but we need to invest in the squad and drive up the standards.
Yeah, in your previous post you say that you think Knockaert has "been alright", he's contributed what? 5 goals and the same in assists? In two seasons. He's not good enough at this level unless you intend to cling on season after season. We obviously need to score more goals, and our wingers...
I feel that in order to get the best out of Jahanbakhsh, we need to remove Knockaert from the right wing. I don't think we've seen anything like the Championship Knockaert in the Premier League and I don't believe he can improve because he doesn't seem able to get himself in the right frame of...
We didn't buy players who could go straight into the team, Mac Allister might never be able to get to us! And the others are just Burn, who is a back up at best and some players to disappear into the u23s - doesn't matter if it was then, or after their loan spells. We had plenty in the squad to...
We didn't sign anyone with the immediate quality of Batshuayi and you're speaking with the benefit of hindsight. At the time, we did not need any signings because we were extremely comfortable in the league. Which perhaps was then demonstrated by the "performances" on the pitch. We were only 2/3...
... because he spent nothing at both Norwich and then Brighton? Nonsense. He had plenty of money spent on the squad, but rejected most of the players who came in who were better than his Championship players, but less trusted. He's a negative manager and that only becomes worse when the team is...
Yeah man, I'll be back. Phoenix will be a raceday for sure, be ready.
Another crazy performance from Artie Fufkin - at least you're agreed about the devilish 10k distance! None of us are a fan of that distance, definitely the collective NSC achilles heel.
I'm against the throwing of milkshakes at anyone. Obviously, it's wrong to waste a milkshake and especially one from Five Guys. But it's pretty poor form to throw a liquid at someone, however much you disagree with them, there are better ways of expressing it. Yes, it's a funny picture and we...
You do get the occasional train fire, as well. And trains with faces is just bizarre, there's nothing else to it really.
I would also second the other worlds in the His Dark Materials trilogy. I would love to have and know my daemon, and explore the other Brighton and Hove in the Kingdom of...
Could be entertaining, I don't think Holloway was too impressed with the decision to sack Chris Hughton. I've no doubt Barber is going into it fully in the knowledge that he's going to get a grilling about CH, but fair play to him for getting himself out there. I'm sure he's well rehearsed and...
I am absolutely nowhere at the moment. My head's gone a bit of late, I have no focus or drive right now. I've also got a big toe issue with my right foot, not sure what's caused it but it's hanging around. I'm stuck on 99 parkruns and not sure whether to quietly do 100 to get the milestone out...
If he's choosing to wait to take over a basketcase in the Premier League, I think he's mistaken. He would, in my opinion, be better served taking over at a Premier League-ready club like West Brom or Middlesbrough and getting them there. I don't think he's the type of character to keep a club up...
That's nice, but I think the point Mellotron was making was about their actual ability. Not their list of International achievements. I don't think anyone watching the performances of the trio this season would take Smalling or Mustafi over Dunk. Not for passing ability, not for the desire to...
