Precisely, though some of the rhetoric used by members of those parties no doubt contributed to the belief held by the rioters that they are ‘standing up for the country’
I don’t think there is anything wrong with being anti immigration per se but it is how you express that opposition. There are ECONOMIC arguments for and against but when someone opposes any policy because of the colour of their skin, religion or ethnicity then that is entirely different.

Where did you get that from my post?! ‘Brown people’ - really?!
My point is that we have, for hundreds of years, been a society of many nationalities, creeds and yes colours. On the whole we have reason to be proud of how people are accepted for who they are rather than because they might be...
Very different time and place but a holocaust memorial in its own right is the genocide centre in Kigali, Rwanda. 1 million people murdered in 30 days. Terrifying what ordinary people can do to each other if brainwashed (Farage et al take note) into hate and extreme anger.
Yet only 30 years on...
I don’t think your list is ‘simple’ in itself and the second paragraph reads more like what the great and the good of nsc think is the problem with the world, which I suspect would not be at the top of the list of the ‘rioters’ who are far more concerned about the changes in their communities...
Depends whether you count voting reform as far right voting. I suspect most of the rioters voted reform and (i hate to say this but…) feel aggrieved how few seats (despite millions of votes) they got in parliament whilst labour got a massive majority with only c 1/3 of the votes.

Accentuates how divided Britain is and how volatile. I have sympathy for the new government facing this so early on but the focus must be on how all members of our society are brought together to share common values whilst respecting our differences.
There was a time, not so long ago, when I...
I once tried to register ‘Honey Hoe’ as a new company name (being a little creative at the time). It was rejected by companies house because ‘Honey’ was an old english term for a prostitute!
I’m unsure what to make of counter protests. Do they just inflame an already volatile situation that just makes the Police’s job harder and more dangerous?
My instinct is that anyone who protests against the EDL etc is all right by me but then I think of some of the anti semitic banners etc at...
I think (have witnessed but cannot prove) that new citizens not being able to speak the native language is always a bone of contention in all nations. I suggest part of the citizenship test is the ability to speak the native language.
Applies equally to someone settling in the Uk as a Brit...
With so many arguments, conflicting views and anger on here, along with violence and hate on our streets, I felt this was worth its own post. From sky news:
With far-right protests being promoted across the UK on social media, one Muslim chaplain has responded by offering cold drinks, burgers...
OR…. he/she is serious and therefore has the right to their opinion. Surely that is what a forum like this is for?
So, i ask RBR again:What is your issue?
Let’s debate it
Yes.
But then i’m not paranoid and i automatically assume that someone who is ‘unknown’ is a decent person like ( I would like to think) me. Why wouldn’t I?
Seriously, what is your issue?
