Range needs to improve before I consider it as I dont use the car much but when I do its generally 3-500 mile round trips. I can get 700 miles out of a tank on my Octavia and I don't want / can't be arsed to plan my longer journeys like a military operation so I get the required charging stations.
Airbnbs need to be clamped down on. Bloke I know bought a bungalow in Devon in 2019 and was bragging through the pandemic how he's making £40k p.a. I'm surprised you don't need planning permission for change of use similar to commercial property.
3 week holiday for a family of four. 2 kayaks, 3 bikes and two paddleboards in boots along with all the holiday paraphernalia. The car swallowed it all.
Octavia or superb. Can get a decent pre 2016 non ulez complaint diesel for that money or an older petrol version. Superb has masses of rear legroom and bootspace.
Owning any modern car long term, be it an ICE, EV or hybrid is too much of a financial risk where any repair can write the car off or at the very least get presented a bill for four figures for basic servicing. A case in point - change the cambelt on my 16 yr old Octavia 1.9 diesel, £330...
Presumably you reported it stolen to your mobile phone provider within 24 hours. If you do, any subsequent calls will be capped at £100 and the reason for this is that they will remove your sim and use it to phone premium rate overseas numbers linked to criminal gangs.
I had my phone lifted...
Paid off mortgage a couple of years ago and promptly told my employer to shove his job up his arse. No debts and some dosh in bank. Wife has good job though so been stay at home dad ever since. Family dynamic is much better with me picking up the slack at home. We live to our means, no fancy...
You forgot to mention doubling of the national debt (now £2.4 trillion) while in office and awarding fat contracts to their crony mates without competition.
In addition to lockdown, it hasn’t escaped the public’s attention the huge amount of sovereign debt they incurred during this period. Asset prices also went mental too.

A very high level summary of the reasons behind it. Both sides don't come out of it very well and you have to ask why the international community isn't/hasn't made more of an issue of occupied territory. What's going on now has prompted me to do some...
Stuff like this used to bother me but since covid and the realisation that a significant proportion of the population are c**ts and there's nothing you can do about it, so no point getting worked up about it. Take this case in point, pre covid, queue jumpers would have pissed me off no end and...
No doubt Boomers have done well but there's no point in punitive IHT taxes as that won't solve the issue of high asset prices. One thing we have to nail down is the cost of social care. No way should the cost be shifted to taxpayer, you have assets, you pay for it. The 'I've paid my taxes, I'm...
Doesn’t matter who’s in charge now, the damage has been done. 13 years of Tory leadership (and I use that term loosely) has left a polarised nation with huge structural debt with little room for manoeuvre and no family silver to sell to balance the books. This country is an absolute basket case...
Given the stupid price of second hand cars at the moment, I would stick with what you have if it's not absolutely knackered. How old is it and the mileage? Garage down the road is asking £9k for a 6 year old i10!
