And only because the Aussies had lost many of their team to Packer.
I've been to Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney. Ironically, I didn't see England on any of those occasions. I love Adelaide. That's the one for me.
As a side note, this day in 1980 John Arlott put his microphone down for the last time. It was the following year that I married cricket so I missed him completely. Do folk have any memories ?
Events can be costly, as some are finding with Oasis. But have you ever looked at a happening and thought 'whatever. I could cut back on cigarettes and alcohol and just roll with it' then purchased a massively expensive ticket ?
The most I've ever paid is £120 for a touts ticket to see England...
I'd forgotten all about it. I guess it may take them a little longer.
'If you have zero tolerance against this, and it stamps it out, then surely for the long term benefit of better teams...that's a good thing'
'Then I'm thinking, why would they enforce it against us ?'
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO...
This is an issue which is far too complex for another drop and run post in NSC. I don't have a fixed opinion on it, which I think is the best starting point on this above many subjects.
I think that's the point. I couldn't hate Palace, they are a club with proper fans. The rivalry is a bit of pantomime fun. Chelsea failing to beat them with their billion pound squad was met with a wry smile.
Me: I don't like this new European format. It's all about money and too many games
Other: Brighton have got a decent squad this year. Europe isn't beyond possible.
Me: I like this new European format.
Rutter couldn't finish off a cheeseburger. Not his strongest asset.
The £100m valuations are just NSC getting silly again. He's a decent player, but he would need more to his capabilities to reach that valuation. Unless you are Chelsea. of course.
They can't be relegated. The sins of a former life have condemned them to a miserable top flight existence of false dawns, failed opportunities and the match that flicks past when the fixtures appear in June. They are the UK of the Eurovision Song Contest Finals, immovable, but irrelevant. When...
Certainly after October. I think it may come from the East European Alpha Ultras who insist on doing it in mid-winter. They call it macho, we call it, well, a bit weird.
Am I a dino, or is it a little bit cringe when folk start goading opposition fans when a team scores ? Especially when the opposition fans ignore them.
