1964-1965 was the ultimate. Not only did we sign Bobby Smith, sixth months after he last played for England, but we also scored 102 goals and won Div 4 in the last game in front of 31,000 on a memorable Goldstone night.
It was a hit from Carousel that was popularised by a group from Merseyside. Spur's traditional anthem was the Battle Hymn of the Republic (Glory Glory Hallelujah) since appropriated by Man U. At least nobody is likely to pinch our song - it's all about identity !
I use a Renault Scenic. Take out the centre rear seat and you can stand one bike in easily, and get a rear passenger in if necessary. I do this for every home game. Drive to edge of Brighton, bike to Amex and back straight after and on to A23. Could probably do 2 bikes if I took out more seats.
