I actually think Bong is best suited to the left side of a 3 man defence as well. It would highlight his stout defensive capabilities but not overly expose his weakness in possession. Suttner is a natural left wing back, Bernardo and March are options there too. The defence is extremely well...
Are you planning on attending the game in September? I'm spending the weekend with my good friends in Darlington, we'll be hitting Newcastle for the match and a few bars afterwards before skulking back off to Darlo. :albion2:
I don't think much of that league table prediction. We'll definitely pick up some points along the way and although I can see a team cracking the top 6 this season, I don't see Newcastle and Burnley forming the top 2. Man Utd finishing above Man City? What year is this, 2008?
It's a no from me.
I agree. He's played a good amount of games in the last two years without really suggesting he's capable of being an effective Premier League winger. I think we'll see him play less games this season, and be moved on next summer.
Or - the change in tactics will really allow him to thrive and...
I would. There's no way that Brentford, with their moneyball philosophy, would have any interest at all in Hemed. Wrong age, wrong profile and wrong set of statistics to support the signing.
What you've forgotten is that before officially coming on as a sub, he just ran on the pitch randomly and had to be called back. :lolol: He was clearly not mentally ready to come on, he was a bag of nerves. And then his place in history was confirmed with the greatest substitute cameo of all...
I spent miles 16-18ish thinking about binning it off after lap 2. I couldn't see myself being able to maintain momentum around a third lap. In the end, I just kept moving but I know there were a few drop outs. The guy who was running 5th binned it after the second lap, he was in a bit of a state...
I think Bernardo is becoming quite overrated on here, he's solid and has clear potential, but he's not exactly Leighton Baines in his prime! It's a shame we've not seen the 3-5-2 used more often in the pre-season, it's Suttner's natural position to be a left wing back but we've not seen anything...
3:52:37 for me around the Lunar-Tic. I took an epic tumble at one point which was unexpected. :lolol: My splits are quite funny from mile 19 onwards it was 10 minutes per mile plus. At 12 miles I was averaging 7:30ish per mile, but it wasn't sustainable. I haven't really been training for this...
Well, I will, for one! :lolol:
Totally, totally wrong about El-Abd. It was before I joined NSC, but I was not a fan. Roll around to the Poyet years though, and his value was obvious.
We don't need a new striker, but the question is whether we're comfortable having the 3 going into the season or if we want an u23 player to make up the 4th. If we do, then Connolly is the man. But if it's better for his development to go out, he will. It'll be interesting to see what happens in...
What's that? Create a chance for Locadia to get a shot off inside the box and he scores? Consistent with what some of us have been saying for weeks... :albion:
I helped myself to my first sub-20 since 16th March, running 19:36 around Hove Promenade. 37 seconds up on Hove Park last week, but a similarly slow start today. Perfect warm up for the Lunar-Tic tonight - in the muddy bog that is going to be the course. I've got the headtorch ready and some...
Of course it's wishful thinking - I'm ever the optimist! I am perfectly prepared to be totally wrong, but I firmly believe the players are good enough. I think we'll see more goals from wingers this season, which isn't saying much because if you credit Izquierdo with the goal at Newcastle, the...
Frankly, we'll just have to wait and see. I don't believe the squad is dogshit, I believe the tactics were and the set up of the team benefitted absolutely nobody.
I am confident that we're going to see a significant improvement under a different manager who attempts to use his players to the...
I am in a beautifully air conditioned office and, for the first time in months, I would rather be here than the outside world! I am on until 5:30 today (would be 5, but I'm a lazy ******* in the morning and didn't achieve a 9am start) and then heading directly to the pub, do not pass Go.
