    Decent builders will get their materials on account and be invoiced at the end of the month with 21 or 28 days to pay. They will also pay wages at the end of the month. I've always paid small jobs on completion and bigger works in stages usually about £10 - £20k a time which is about 3 or 4...

    I've heard very similar for Hyundais around that age. Get a 10 - 12 year old one with full service history and reasonable mileage and just keep driving with only an annual service needed.
