Few years ago, nice sunny afternoon, outside the Queens Head chatting to some Blackpool "shirters", when some idiot comes over & punches one right in the face, doing some nasty damage to his nose. Totally unprovoked. I had a few words with the offender who ran off, but his older mate wearing a...
I see what you've done there; isolated a few words from the bigger picture. Listen, I like Solly, no problem with him, doing a great job. Just that Knocky gets people off their seats, that's all. Delighted to have both in our team.
Sailors ALWAYS head for the out of bounds areas when visiting foreign ports. It used to make me chuckle when we were somewhere like say, Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the whole ships company is there after we were all told specifically by our U.S. hosts that it was out of bounds. A good night...
I think he does a good job for the team, but has only genuinely excited me in 2 pre season friendlies. One v Norwich, scored a cracker. One v Ath Madrid, put the Spain full back on his arse & they eventually kicked him out the game as they couldn't handle him.
He can excite, he has the skills...
They got mad skillz though innit?
Actually I don't mind a bit of basketball now & again. Like others have said, I'd have it over golf, and as for tennis.....
Well said! I'll join you with Vancouver if it's North America we're talking about; great place.
No-one gone for anywhere in Alaska yet. Unbelievable scenery & wildlife. Very lucky to have been there a few times; Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Seward, Sitka, Whittier, Haines. Not done Anchorage...
Had a Maccy D in Barcelona the other day. They do a big cheeseburger with camambert which is delicious. The time before that they were doing one with goats cheese which is one of the best burgers I've ever had. Certainly better than the trendy (& expensive) Patty & Bun which I visited last time...
I was probably a bit harsh, but you know how it is when you spend so much time in a place. I suppose my lack of Spanish doesn't help me get by so much & the locals lack of English!
Just remembered another place that was really good. Wilmington NC, & just down the road Wrightsville Beach. Was there with the RN for a few days in the summer of 98.
A GREAT time was had by all.
As you can probably tell, all the places I recommend are ports! I think I've done most of them...
Not a city, but a town. Astoria in Oregon. Been there a few times, loved it, especially the 1 time there was a beer festival.
You can't really beat NY for cities, I like Seattle though.
I'm in Miami a lot, not fond!
Back on board ship now, so using the opportunity to up the running. One of the nice things about my job is getting off in all the different ports for a run; it's a great way to see the places if you don't have so long off work.
Looking forward to a 10k in Casablanca tomorrow lunch time.
Early stages of the game, Wolves not really living up to the media's hype, trailing 0-1.
I for one would be happy to see Citeh notch up another 9-0 against this lot.
(Wolves will probably win now I've jinxed it).
Very proud of my fellow Lancing Beach Green park runners. During the welcome for tourists & the usual clap for people from far & wide, one lady runner proudly shouted she was from Crystal Palace. This was greeted by a loud boo followed by much laughter...
