We were as quiet as I've ever heard in the first half. We could have conceded in the first minute, saw one disallowed, saw two count, and could have let in more. Following the defeat to chelsea, there was nothing to feel good about.
Well, I'm allowing for the fact that some great players just happened to be gifted with the ball at their feet, but didn't really know what was going on. Most pundits talk a fair amount of nonsense, but some speak nothing but crap, despite having been good footballers. That said I do think the...
Yeah some of them sure do talk a lot of nonsense. I guess it's a hard skill to get your analysis spot on straight after a game, even for someone who knows the game well.
I also didn't know the half time rule, but the reason I answered the question with sarcasm was because I misread it. I thought you said "I thought you could only make 3 subs in a game?"
I wondered how you could have got this far and thought it was still only 3 (as we all know it's 5). I then...
They could have scored in the first minute because of our high line though, and we look extremely vulnerable because of it. We can't just ignore the frailty on the basis that Spurs fluffed the chance.
Not deliberately, no.
I think it's 3 opportunities max, even if one of them is at half time. But even if you also get 1 at half time, that's not what changes it from 3 subs to 5, that's the case anyway.
PS - you do get free subs after full time, and at half time during extra time.
Jesus Ted, do you know any of the rules? You're allowed 5 subs, not 3. You can bring them on in 1, 2 or 3 goes (half time is no different). Exceptions to that are concusion subs, and if a cup game goes to extra time.
I think we should have had a foul for their first goal. The ref gave them a few soft decisions in the first half. So yeah, I think we definitely deserved the win.
I'm happy to admit that I was completely disillusioned with our tactics at half time, and when we scored our first I didn't even bother standing up. I could only muster a bit of clapping, as it was surely going to be a consolation goal in 4 or 5 - 1 defeat. I celebrated the next two goals a bit...
