[Politics] The 2024 US Election - *MATCH DAY*

The previous prosecution was of the Trump Foundation. I don't quite see how promising not to stop an ongoing investigation into Trump if elected isn't relevant to the running on a 'get Trump' ticket idea that you brought up. We must be talking at cross-puposes somewhere.

Oh, sorry, I was just expanding your comment for people who didn't know what Alvin Braggs 'get Trump' ticket was: * Had previously prosecuted Trump * Wouldn't stop the ongoing investigation set up by Cyrus Vance

It is true he referenced his previous prosecutions of Trump in his campaign, and it is also true that he said he'd continue the investigation initiated by the outgoing DA Cyrus Vance.

    Doctor Who

I was saddened to see that William Russell who played Ian Chesterton had died this month - 99 years was really an incredible innings, and his son Alfred is somewhat younger than me! RIP Chesterfield

I wonder what the temperature average difference is between urban areas and the countryside.

Unseasonably cold last night, and the central heating turned itself on this morning. I can't recall the last time it came on in June!

[Politics] Hunter Biden and Joe Biden

Not sure Hunter Biden's laptop ever wasn't real - the main problem was who had custody of it between Hunter Biden dropping it off and the FBI picking it up.

Transvestite, transgender, and transexual aren't all the same thing though, and I don't know why they get grouped together. Frankly I can recall more people having a problem with Eddie's comedy than the clothes he wears. I enjoy the comedy, seriously respect the way he pushed himself for Comic...

Actually, the defence team can only advise their client not to take the stand, the actual decision whether or not to is entirely the clients.

Rules, morals and ethics are for other people, not Mr Trump. See his views on people invoking their fifth amendment rights (disgraceful), versus his own use of that right (invoked more than 400 times in one deposition).

[Misc] Have you put the heating on yet? (2024/25 edition)

Just got back from Cornwall to find that the South East is considerably colder than the South West, so the central heating has turned itself on. I knew the weather couldn't have been great as the solar panels have generated sweet f.a. today.

Well, this is perplexing. Guilty, eh? Based on evidence? Who would have thought it?
