[Technology] If you could afford it would your next car be an EV?

it's a shame they have to rebut many myth with alternative myths, half truths and lies, alongside lots to straw man arguments (who ever said EV are more difficult to drive?)

[Football] Would the Premier League be better off without Manchester City?

fit and proper is just some rules that mean owners isn't a known crook or bankrupt. what you mean is you want some rules to exclude certain people. what should the rules be?

[Technology] If you could afford it would your next car be an EV?

you'll definately be able to tell the middle classes, with their home chargers or time to spend at the charge park, from the hoi poloi with their old school petrol burners.

[Technology] If you could afford it would your next car be an EV?

they dont, though they can fill up in less than 5 minutes on the way to work or the shops. the charging at home becomes an issue because it's supposed to avoid the problems of charging away from home. i.e. you cant get a charge space out, or takes time, or it's expensive, so solution charge...

[Technology] If you could afford it would your next car be an EV?

hydrogen isn't going to take off for personal transport. it has it's benefits but on balance it losses out to electric. makes little sense to cart around heavy, large compressed gas cylinder, there's difficult supply of materials for fuel cells at scale, then there's the problem of building a...

[News] Royal Patronage how far does it stretch?

in certain circles it counts for something, will get people to turn out to events and fundraisers and part with money. being seen with the people, or associated with them is enough to open cheque books. though can't see such a fringe royal doing much, a well known non-royal celeb probably do...

[Technology] If you could afford it would your next car be an EV?

i wouldnt buy new and the sort of budget i would have it's all Nissan Leaf and BMW i3. so no. which is a shame as from use point of view an EV would do fine. may be in another 10 years.

    [Football] 2.Bundesliga farce

first one as it is so daft could be a simple misundertanding. the second is out of normal behaviour, more likely to play the ball away. shenanigans.

this. and that. weird to be missing their non-contribution in this area.

[Albion] The high line is great

so the problem with the high line is players aren't comfortable with it, get rushed, make mistakes. apart from that it's fine.

[Drinking] The Pub Debate - Weatherspoons

as i recall he said openly what many companies just kept quiet about: shutting the business meant no money coming in, so staff wont be paid. ever heard of a business close indefinitely keeping their staff on? i think he spoke not believing government would do furlough, and days later it was...

[Football] Diarra legal action against FIFA (Bosman 2.0)

seems two issues. first is the judgment that if a player is out of contract, they can play elsewhere and FIFA cant restrict that. second is standing of contracts. interpretation is that either first issue invalids contract or makes it more likely players will press for moves. i dont see it...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

funny how some people go to so much length to discredit a technology that may be the only feasible way to achieve net zero. it's as if they dont want that to work and have another agenda.

    [Politics] The Labour Government

yeah, getting this wrong by not looking at the long term. take a view that difference is the cost of training. they'll be earning considerable more than those just picking up regular unskilled work after the training is complete.

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

it is a conincidence. that funding is over 25 years and was mostly already planned. makes use of the old oil and gas fields, creates a new industry, actual does something useful towards delivering net zero carbon.

    [Politics] The Labour Government

that's the significant issue with renewables that gets overlooked or deliberately hidden. the additional infrastructure, storage, backup power dont get added to the total cost for the wind farm. then there's the whole market CFD model skwed to make earlier renewables look cost effective, then...

    [Politics] The Labour Government

most danergous is silly click bait, which is a shame because it'll discredit some of the useful points being raised. Miliband will be allowed to run with the zero emission ball until it becomes evident its not deliverable, and dependable power is prioritised.
