The word legend is often misused but for Nige it was very apt. A huge personality

[Drinking] The Pub Debate - Weatherspoons

You win. There is only one pub I have drunk in that has similar clientele and that's the Hen and Chickens in Sheffield. I stayed in their b&b for a night (was trying to demonstrate to my team that they didnt need to stay in the stakis hilton each time they went there and that a premier inn or...

[Drinking] The Pub Debate - Weatherspoons

Agree entirely. I have drunk in spoons in many parts of the country. Some are great locations (crossed keys was one of the best /most drunken work xmas parties I can or rather can't, recall) and some are ropey as hell. Many do have sticky carpets but the thats a general pub thing. But since...

    [Albion] RDZ pre-Liverpool press conference

Im in this camp. I also feel he maybe accepted targets for this season that we havent achieved and so he is feeling the pressure and looking at mitigating circumstances. Whether its the manager or the club, we have bought in 1 great player (pedro) recruited a marque signing who hasnt performed...

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

On sky he also used the phrase that 'lefty lawyers were grooming asylum seekers' Which, given the importamce of words, you would expect the MP for arundel to know better than that. Reality is that he does know, but he says it anyway

[Albion] Pub landlord banned from football matches after Athens punch-up

He was a busy busy man, saving the entire lower tier from missiles on the right side. Running to the left side to save a woman from a heart attack, moving back to the right to negotiate world peace then climbing round the netting in order to defuse a cluster bomb.

[Albion] Pub landlord banned from football matches after Athens punch-up

Right at the outset sone of our fans were goading their fans after the game (some scarf swapping had happened immediately as the game ended then it escalated). I didnt see our fans throw anything either and sorry i hadnt made that clear.

[Albion] Pub landlord banned from football matches after Athens punch-up

From my view at the time, there had been a reaction from aek at the final whistle. It blew up after some goading from our fans. It calmed down a bit and then blew up again after some of our 'let me at em' fans had made their way across. I too saw things thrown and indeed had bottles and cups...

[Albion] Pub landlord banned from football matches after Athens punch-up

And this was the person we were talking about back in dec. Post in thread 'Teargas Gate 36 hours on' https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/threads/teargas-gate-36-hours-on.405033/post-10919809

    O/T John Byrne

Wasnt it just! I know a lot of local teams in that age group had players going to watch (many supporting west hove) inc my son and his mates from school. They were in the group that the west hove pen takers ran too after scoring. I think nerves played a part in some of the decision making. The...

    O/T John Byrne

John Byrne's team (west hove dynamos u15) won the u15 sussex county cup last night beating a very strong Eastbourne united side. In a dramatic game of 3 penalties (all scored) it ended up 2-1 to west hove with the winner coming from the spot with virtually the last kick of the game. Fair play to...

    [Politics] Owen Jones

I dont dislike him. I can understand why he left but given he joined under a Blair govt (and his parents were ex militant tendency who were booted out of labour in the 80s and who joined labour again in 1999) its a strange path. But at least he has given his opinion.

Uncle sams started in montpelier road in 1971....(so says a franchise invitation document I read recently) I recall samsons in st george's road brighton/kemptown from late 70s.
