For clarity, how long do JLC's remain JLC's. I assume there is a point at which the "have been here some time but still don't fit in's" (ABHSTBSDFI) remain the focus of contempt but begin to morph into vaguely better supporters.
They are all great musicians - Jim Lea is a fantastic bass player, pianist and violin player. They were one of the best bands I have seen live - and not a backing track or lip sync in sight.
The film got slated at the time - everyone was expecting a Beatles/Monkees style effort but instead got a gritty exposé of the music business. It is now held on high esteem as a good example of the genre. The sound track is great.
