It's amazing how quickly he has developed.
We all saw last season that there was a player there, he had all the physical attributes but lacked some calmness in tight spaces and his passing was a bit wonky at times.
No longer.
Not sure he's surpassed Caicedo at his best for us yet, but he will...
Something must have happened behind the scenes.
However I'm always hesitant to start shouting "how could they after all (manager X) has done for (club Y)!!" without knowing the details.
We received enough of that when Hughton was sacked, and look what's happened since.
Another in there that we supposedly bid for but we're beaten to the punch. A bloody centre back too, just what we're missing:

At Evan's age, Gyokeres was still playing in PL2. Gyokeres took years to develop to the point Ferguson has already reached.
Stupid comparison.
Gyokeres had to leave us to achieve what he is now achieving. It happens, players develop differently.
It is an interesting one. In pre-season it seemed to be a question of whether Ayari or Sarmiento would get that squad spot.
Ayari got it and is now starting ahead of £25m Wieffer. Sarmiento is back bench warming in the Championship.
Football really is a profession of sliding doors moments. You...
Except he's tiddly and would get muscled off the ball every time he has it. There is also much less space to run in the centre than out wide, and that's his real strength. If people complained about Gilmour getting dominated by physical opposition, imagine Lamptey!
Kante was small but strong...
I agree, he's got the pace and trickiness that a Premier League team will gamble on him, particularly if he's going for cheap. Maybe a Leicester, Everton or Forest even, those who don't have money to burn.
I thought he did fine, not spectacular. I missed the third goal, so can't comment on that.
He'll struggle to recover fan opinion. That was such a jarring incident v Wolves and he's been blamed despite about 4 or 5 players being also at fault.
I still think there's a player there, he's showed...
He'd do well in Italy or Spain, I think. But who would pay us a big enough fee for him from those leagues? Only teams who already have better players.
It's strange watching the tide of opinion turn on Enciso. Yes he had a purple patch before his injury last season. I never really warmed to him...
It's remarkable really that every single match for years you manage to post the match day thread, even if perhaps things in real life could get in the way.
Fantastic commitment, a few hours late who cares.
This spot behind the striker we have the following options:
João Pedro
Rutter
O'Riley
Enciso
Gruda
Ayari
Buonanotte
Sarmiento
Moran
Gómez arriving in January.
Buonanotte may be the one with the highest ceiling, and it's true that most of these players play multiple positions so we can...

Mixed reviews for Moran here.
A lot seem to think it's a system problem rather than a player problem. Also, Moran was always an attacking midfielder, he's not going to be the one breaking up counter attacks.
As time goes on...
To be fair to them, most of the fans on there are realistic saying we'd be mad to send him back or let him go yet.
They're not as deluded as the Leeds lot, despite having achieved far more than them in recent years.
They're quite certain hes better than Rutter though.
