Perhaps inverted is the wrong word as you’re right about being left footed, however the positions he took up against Villarreal and some of the other friendlies were text book inverted full back, drifting VERY central

Looks very comfortable on both sides which will be a huge advantage through the season. Imagine he will play more on the right (which is where we need him) however it’s a shame we won’t see on the the left as he looks very accomplished in that ‘inverted role’ (as has Barco)

True, although Ferdi doesn’t look slow, neither does Barco. I think pace in midfield can snuff out breaks against us before they become a problem. Players breezed pass WBG and Gross last season far too much

I chickened out. Had it typed up and all but wasn’t sure how many would get the reference.

I genuinely think we lost 5-10 points last year purely because we lacked pace both at fullback and in the middle.
