You're right. I withdraw my nomination of the Pistols. I bought New Rose and saw the Damned many more times than the Pistols. That whole first album was amazing. Apparently, it was recorded live and Stiff had plied them with beer and cider beforehand, so it was much rawer than the Pistols...

F**k! I just crept in from the pub and it's like a sauna. The gas engineer had left all the radiator valves open to balance the system and 'bleed the radiators'. Needless to say, I've now turned them all down / off (except for the ones in the room in which the 'entertaining is happening)...

I cannot understand why any government would reduce the savings pot of pensioners given that we have an aging, unfit population and a creaking care system . My mum is living in a care home and burning through her and my long-dead dad's lifetime savings. It's made me reconsider my priorities...

I was in Brighton BC planning dept in the mid 80s and there was always a Friday lunchtime session in what are now the Caxton Arms or Earth & Stars (?) and sometimes weekday 'lunches' as well while out on site visits. Those days are long gone now in municipal service.
