I wish people would stop using the word genocide in relation to this conflict. If that was the genuine intent of Israel then Gaza would have been levelled months ago without having to commit ground troops.

Those negotiations would by necessity require a change in ideology on the part of Hamas, so I'd imagine they'd be quite tricky.
