Your continuing support and defence of him are commendable, BL. Unfortunately many of us find his commentary style and lack of knowledge quite hard to stomach - he is presumably getting paid to do what seems a rather nice job. But I guess the answer is in the mute button. :)
In a similar vein our village team came up against then current or recent zimbabwe test player John Rennie. My son, then about 15 and not really a bowler, sent down a long hop from which he was spectacularly caught on the square leg boundary. A story that's been re-told a few times over the years.
