Right that's done then, 21 miles in 3:08, and pretty decent energy at the end so reasonably happy with that. Although I know that pace would only mean a 3:55 marathon so a lil bit close for comfort if I want to do sub 4. Will be checking in for all your sub 4 tactics. I guess crowd etc is worth...

Hello! Quick question for you clever chaps! My training for London and Brighton has been challenging with illness, long work hours and co-parenting when not at work (inc w'ends!). But feels like i am getting there just! Last two runs of note were 11 miles in 1:24 last week and 18 miles in 2:37...

Actually re-reading your post maybe slower than that, or maybe my marathon goal is faster than I thought! I guess part of me thinks that I want to know what my marathon pace feels like, but will aim for around 5min 40s and see how that feels. Cheers for the advice.

Thanks Dazzer, my marathon goal is just to get under 4 hours. But I guess if I was to nail it down, 3:45 would be an ultimate aim (my previous best is 4:04, but i was a lot heavier then!). So maybe I'll aim for more like 5min 30s kms tonight, very happy to take it easier!

Morning all, thinking of doing 28k (17.5 ish miles) this evening in prep for Brighton/London combo. Previous longest was a HM last week at 5min Km pace. Was thinking of doing tonight’s run at 5min 20sec km pace. Too much too soon (distance), or about right for where I am at? Any thoughts very...

Hi Knocky, struggling with many official times. But to start me off I have a 49.19 from the 2016 Worthing 10k and a 20:50 from a Hove Park, Park Run this year, if that will do to get me on the table? Cheers!

Hi all, Great to see so many fantastic times from Sunday! I am back training after two weeks out with lurgi and playing catch up for my Brighton/London Marathon Combo in April! Started with a decent (for me) 10k last week and a very painful, but better HM today (it's hot out there and I think...

    [Drinking] Giving up drinking

This. Think I am in a very similar place Stumpy Tim. Regular drinker for 20+ years, but the last few years I have definitely been feeling different about alcohol and realised the amount I was putting away was doing me no favours, mentally or physically. I am 3 weeks into my second month off this...

Yep I know what you mean and I take some of it with a pinch, but for me it was whatever gives you a kick start and somewhere to tap into when you are finding it a bit tough, I find it useful for that and the fact that they are really into promoting exercise, nutrition etc that all adds to the...

I'm pretty similar, dry Feb and now 2 weeks into a another month or more off. This is after being pretty regular and drinking a couple of beers and glass or wine or two after work for years. I reckon I might go completely AF some day, but just going with what feels right for the moment...

Hi all. My running has been a bit slack for a couple of months, so looking to get inspired with a couple of races to aim for in a month or two. Does anyone know of any good 5 and 10k's coming up in the next few months? Thanks in advance!
