Yep…….I’ve had vertigo twice, very different experiences. The first time (not knowing what it was) I ended up being blue-lighted to A&E, couldn’t move or open my eyes without being sick. A few hours later I walked out of the hospital completely fine as the crystals had relocated. The second time...

Vertigo is horrible.....took me a month to recover balance etc. First few days were awful - literally had to stay lying down in a dark room

Mrs D has had this a couple of times recently. Done on NHS, a week of putting drops in then a visit to the nurse at the local GP. All very straightforward and instant relief

We had an office team that played every Sunday when I lived in Jersey in the late 80s. Our CF got badly injured in a game and had to go to hospital……..later in the day he was sat in bed nursing a badly bruised shin when an AA counsellor visited him because his blood/alcohol reading was so high...

Your friend is an arse. What people do outside of work isn’t ‘firmly’ their line manager’s responsibility. The line manager can point out the facts of life, suggest what to do, invoke sanctions or offer help……but the subject has to accept responsibility
