Would do a few days in Havana first….plenty to see/do. Varadero is much like any other ’strip’ full of international hotels and not the ‘real’ Cuba in my experience…….

We had an office team that played every Sunday when I lived in Jersey in the late 80s. Our CF got badly injured in a game and had to go to hospital……..later in the day he was sat in bed nursing a badly bruised shin when an AA counsellor visited him because his blood/alcohol reading was so high...
Your friend is an arse. What people do outside of work isn’t ‘firmly’ their line manager’s responsibility. The line manager can point out the facts of life, suggest what to do, invoke sanctions or offer help……but the subject has to accept responsibility
