I take it you haven't read my earlier post about where the complaint against lrm emanate?
Trust me, I am hugely disappointed he won't be the candidate but this is not a battle that the party at any level wanted. However a specifically timed complaint was made to cause the biggest impact and...
That at 48hrs notice they have a locally born and raised candidate who has been vetted is actually quite an achievement. It's up to the electorate now to decide if they want him.
According to politics home, the complaint about LRM actually came from the left of the party (to be entirely accurate, a left wing/momentum labour member who was kicked out for antisemitism) decided to make an accusation about something that happened in 2016.
So if it was a centrist purge, it...
What I think people are saying is that the news agenda at the bbc is now overseen by a former tory councillor and parliamentary candidate (tim davie) and former head of tory comms and tory pm comms, member of Tufton St think tanks and founding member of gb news (Robbie gibb) who acts as the...
You can like someone without disliking someone else..the people I know and align to value a labour mp above an unsuccessfully labour candidate.
The potential removal of kyle was a momentum move. In my view LRM has bridged the gap between momentum and labour successfully
Not just any allegation. There needs to be primae facie evidence. But yes, an opponent can hijack a candidacy. As we saw in the recent by elections with Labour needing to withdraw a candidate and not being able to replace them
As a member of that group I can't disagree enough. We have created a very powerful campaign team in that area and they have been fully behind LRM as candidate and MP
So the deadline for clp nominations were 2 weeks ago (she is suspended so couldn't be nominated)
She can self nominate up to Tuesday hence she got the whip back in time for that to happen I believe when the nec will look at nominations and after the slate of candidates.
Although as I say she...
Also fun fact, he was the only conservative councillor ro support the albion plating at withdean (he was simon radford-kirby then, before call me Dave required people to lose their double barrelled names in order to be more approachable)
Yes he is. My own experience was the one occasionally recently I needed assistance from my constituency mp he was less than helpful. Caroline lucas, despite not being my MP was brilliant as what impacted me could also impact her constituents. Lloyd R-M was equally effective once he was elected...
She would be interesting. Having stood against caroline lucas in 2010 and losing and simon kirby in 2015 and also losing (marginally as green/lib dem split the vote) I don't know if it would be what she wants to do.
He was a great constituency MP. Let's just see who the candidate will be. I suspect much of the team who supported him will support the next Labour mp too
