At the risk of repeating earlier posts on this thread it all works perfectly fine at the weekend. Wolves was one of the easiest to/from train journeys I’ve done.
And it all goes to shit on weekday evening matches. Every. Single. Time. The rolling stock issues @jackalbion talks about are not...
See your first mistake was going for a quiet drink on Halloween and your second was doing so in Poets Corner! I’m afraid you stumbled on the inevitable.
That said I find kids in pubs, especially in the later hours, annoying too. I’m lucky in Portslade that there’s a range though. The Railway...
Good work. I was hopeful for you when you described your space.
We got in just after 11 thanks to the trains so about an hour an 40 to do the six miles home to Portslade!
Because football fans want to support the team.
My journey home was an annoying queue-fest but I still wouldn’t have missed us in the last 16 of a cup competition against Liverpool. Astonishing some would miss it because they have to queue for a bit.
If you’ve read the thread then you’ll know getting home is a bigger issue.
8pm games could finish at 10. If something goes wrong or we only get 3 and 4 car trains people could miss the last train.
I’ve not seen it back but the xG for that must have been about 0.05. It’s an incredible finish. Gakpo won’t hit a better ball all season. We (when we’re actually in position) defend narrowly, ceding the wide areas and people were gleefully sharing videos about FH when he signed, along the lines...
I almost always get the train from / back to Brighton. This only happens mid week but it happens almost every mid week game.
Once the queue gets past the barriers it’s a free for all. People spread out wider than the queue lane but also leave gaps. Always a few opportunists who notice when...
I guess many go to support the team?
We all know mid week is bad but why it took until today for Southern or the club to put out that there wasn’t a match day service is beyond me.
Way too late for people to change plans.
Budget thread is decent because budget is decent. I could bounce any number of comments on here claiming it wouldn't be, which is exactly what would happen on a football thread, but I'm sure people can find them for themselves. I've got work to do and a pub and match to get to.
Hopefully that cut and the employment allowance changes will help landlords and restauranteurs a little though? I'd be keen to hear @crookie 's take on it.
As an, ahem, keen user of the hospitality industry I want to see it thrive.
