[Albion] Teams like Bournemouth (and Brighton)

They know their onions! Really good video to be fair

    [TV] Celebrity 2024

It was The Communards with famed Ian Hislop lookalike Jimmy Somerville, “Don’t Leave Me This Way” and all that disco shite. Saw Richard Coles once on a No. 12 bus where he got off at Friston Pond, he was being very charming to an older couple who recognised him and seems a thoroughly nice man.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

My concern is this universally agreed assumption that NATO would hold firm and show solidarity if the reality of literal world war broke out. Someone made the point before that the fact it is largely untested outside of peacekeeping forces means it’s working. I agree of course, although it does...

Why would you be sorry to break that to me…

    [News] Doctor surgery wait times

That sounds so much better. My surgery has Blinx, it’s right there on the NHS app and their website, but it’s permanently disabled. It’s like everything at my surgery is designed to be as difficult as possible

    [News] Doctor surgery wait times

This is what I think it is too, hence not pushing the urgency of the matter or worst case going into a walk-in clinic. Funny thing though, I’m only going now because the unpigmented patch has gotten bigger in recent weeks. During lockdown, when it first appeared, I had to do exactly what you...

Nobody here wants to see my newly unmelanated ball bag. I hope.

    [News] Doctor surgery wait times

Not available at my GP sadly. You can’t make an appointment in person or online, you have to call and queue in the designated appointment call slots.

Growing patch of what looks like vitiligo. Not in an appropriate place to photograph!

[TV] Captain Sir Tom Moore - *Died 2 Feb 2021*

It was just a nice feel good story for the media to push in a world of constant doom and gloom. Could do with similar right now, really.

    [News] Doctor surgery wait times

I know I posted about this before, but I can’t find the thread. Anyway, I know some people hate old threads being bounced, so here goes. I have a skin issue which is worrying me a bit, so I called my GP in the designated time slot to make an appointment. I was triaged by the receptionist, and...

As long as they go slowly, too much fast motion on screen and I’d be feeling decidedly unsexy as I once again “inspect the porcelain”.

Norwegian Woodpecker. Oh sorry, that was sung by John Linnet

    [Technology] Virtual Reality Gaming

I’m only writing from my own experience here, but I strongly recommend using one first - ideally the model you decide to buy - before plonking down the cash. I say this because I finally got a PSVR2 for my PS5 just before Christmas last year, and I had sold it to CeX within a month. Several...

    [News] John Prescott RIP

You had the sanity to realise it could be used against you. Most of the current party leadership don’t seem to have that level of clarity

[Politics] Are Labour going to turn this country around?

I wasn’t questioning their legal right or their intentions, just pointing out that a smaller population country with less burden on their stretched public services such as our NHS and housing shortages like we have, can afford to take a lot more people as a percentage of population than we can.

[Politics] Are Labour going to turn this country around?

That graph is as a percentage of population, with only France and Germany having comparable numbers or higher in Germany’s case. Added to the fact that by virtue of being an island, the vast, vast majority of those we take in have travelled through several other countries in order to reach the UK.
