Decent article on The Race re: how McLaren look to be handling Norris' possible chase of Verstappen for the WDC title (covering both Monza and future races):

Similar story here at Uckfield. We've also been doing All Stars / Dynamos.
We ran our sessions on Sunday mornings, and had around 50 kids across all the age groups (All Stars starting at reception / KS1, and all the way up to our junior squads for playing ... which IIRC this season was 2x hard...
'grats!
Enjoyed reading your recaps here through the season. So thanks to you for starting the thread.
I've got 1 more match to come this weekend (our must-win against table-toppers Alfriston at their place). Thoroughly enjoyed my first (almost ... darned summer holidays!) full season since...
That's the multi-million £ question. And not one I have an answer to myself. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the "answers" that have been tried so far are going to last the distance either. Largely because there isn't a large enough body of scientific research, and the solutions being tried...
In that case, you're not using that phrase in the way that the vast majority would understand it. That phrase has been used a lot in reference to people who are born physically one gender but firmly believe they are the other gender. It's a phrase that they use themselves, to describe the way...
Not sure I agree. The wider "gender critical" movement globally has a poor reputation and known associations with recognised hate-movements on the far right. I'd also argue that their hyper-strict "biology" basis for their views is wrong, which undermines their whole justification for their...
Not sure JK Rowling is someone I'd bring into this conversation. Her views are ... somewhat inflexible, as well as tainted by association with some organisations that raise concern about her true views. Personally, I believe her views are far more about anti-trans hate than they are about...
After the first week, I was all for seeing some brevity after Garth Crooks waffling on about irrelevant stuff for 2 out of 3 paragraphs for each player. Since then ... he's taken it too far. Absolutely no actual analysis of why he's picking players. Just some totally meaningless words once...
Nah ... I think the reason Norris wasn't asking for it is because he knew he wasn't quick enough to deserve it. He'd closed the gap to Piastri a small amount, then made an error and lost ground again. If he'd been able to get within DRS I reckon he would have asked.
On another note ... looks...
Red Bull appear to be in a lot of trouble now - they're definitely on the back foot, and McLaren appear to be the most consistently faster now. Verstappen's post-race interviews are telling, I think. He's not convinced his WDC lead is enough to see him home at end of the season. If McLaren are...
A win for Uckfield. We batted first on a dry pitch. After our traditional slow start (66/2 off 20 at drinks ... one of our better efforts), we kicked on to make 189 from our 40. Went out at 7 with 4 and a bit overs remaining, made 19 not out including only my second ever 6 in outdoor.
Our...
Antonelli's outing in FP1 has been cut short. After going out on softs, he initially set the fastest lap of anyone (despite Hamilton, Verstappen, and Perez all also using the softs for their first runs). Hamilton then came back out (still on softs) and took top spot. Antonelli followed him out...
State of play for 2025 as we head into the Monza weekend:
Red Bull
1. Verstappen (contract thru 2028; staying for 2025, but rumbling about Mercedes for 2026 continues)
2. Perez (signed thru 2026; performance clauses?)
Ferrari
1. Leclerc (long term contract)
2. Hamilton (multi year contract)...
Some interesting discussion around Colapinto on Reddit. Specifically, whether or not he has the required 40 points to get a full Formula 1 Super Licence. It appears that by a strict interpretation of the rules, he only has 39 points. An FIA official has apparently confirmed they believe he has...
Now I've finally had time to watch the C4 highlights:
Really well run race from Norris. McLaren need to figure out what's going wrong with their starts, but beyond that it was a perfect day out. Managed the first stint really well, and dominated the second stint. Piastri disappointing to get...
Yeah, you're losing about 150 litres boot space compared to the Civic. ID3 is a bit bigger, you'll "only" be 100 litres down.
MG5's might be worth a look for you?
VW makes an electric Golf as well. But yes, that's the rough size.
ID range is a dedicated EV platform (whereas the e-Golf is EV tech shoe-horned into a chassis designed for ICE). I've heard very good things about the ID3 (one of the reasons I've gone for one to replace the Zoe, alongside the...
For 200+ mile range (in spring/summer/autumn...):
High spec Renault Zoe's (look for the R135's) are under £10k now. Older VW ID3's will be creeping into that range, but the cheaper ones will have massive miles on them already. Lower mileage examples look to be closer to £15k (maybe more for top...
