My company did some work on the New Tyne Tunnel about 10 years ago and I used to stay in Tynemouth. Beautiful part of the country with a superb beach and great restaurants.
Those are the load bearing structures supporting the beams holding the roof up. The whole thing looks like it’s been designed in a similar fashion to a scaffolding structure. The floodlights have been positioned on the strongest parts of the building. Agree it’s a pants view though.
I’ve worked in Leeds City centre and it’s really impressive with upmarket shopping centres, great bars and restaurants. Never got outside the “loop” the road surrounding the centre, apart from coming in and leaving.
