Sky news were interviewing locals in pennsylvania. Bulk seemed really happy with Trumpty Dumpty, saying he was doing what he said he would.

Unsurprisingly several were saying Ukraine wasn't their war and they shouldn't be spending money on it etc. Also comments about how there were too many federal employees so getting rid of some is good. No tax on tips and overtime also seen as good for workers.

All very insular but an insight in to why he is still quite popular. Sadly.

@spence, you're back doing the laughing emojis thing. I'm starting to think you're running away from this question, the way you disappear every time it's asked,

You may have missed it earlier, but a few people are wondering where you got this extensive knowledge of the USA ? How long were you there and whereabouts in that vast country of wildly differing political opinions ?

After all, I'm sure your knowledge and experience wouldn't have all come from a single bedroom in the backwaters of Crawley ???

But I'm sure that's not the case

Isn’t that a banning offence now?

Shame not enough Americans heeded this warning by Robert De Niro.

There is logic and merit in all theae suggestions but its hard to ignore the way he is going about these things.

Since WWII the us has set itself as the leader ofbthe world, it has policed the world and lead the way in ensuring peace. The world has gonr along with this and allowed it do it in a way that allowed it to take advantage of that power. How well it has dobe at this is a different discussion.

Trumo has decided that he longet wants to do this. Rathet than slowly repealing
the influence of 80 odd years and handing it back to his allies he has accused them of ripping the US off, left them up shit creek and started working for the opposition.

Many people (including myself) would have welcomed a shift in US foreign policy. in fact i would point to it as being one of the few postives of his first term. However the way he is doing this is dangerous, destabilising and dumb.

To be clear, I don’t think it’d be a good thing if someone made a martyr of him. It would make things worse. But it wouldn’t be a surprise if it happened.

Why is it always the stupid ones, everybody knows he spends another million of so of his governments money flying home at the weekend to play golf

A slight divergence but very pleased to see Mark Carney taking the reigns in Canada. I always thought he was a great bloke at the BoE when I was there (Does that also make me an Economist ?). I think and hope he will do very well.
Brexiters hated him for reminding them they voted for economic decline.

Seems solid and sensible, standing up to Trump will win him many plaudits. The Liberals were deader than the Tories, now they're level pegging

Badfish, you're giving me a run for my money and bad spelling / grammar!! Agree with sentiments...

Yep, in Europe many will agree with Trump we need to stand on our own two feet, but doing this will take a decade via a transition. But Trump won't be alive in a decade, he just wants to blow everything up and to hell with the consequences.

For the US it the end of the era as a world power, decades of trust and cooperation have been destroyed in just a few weeks. Russian is on its arse but Trump has given Putin hope

I think hes just explaining it very badly, as always, but I had to do a double take when I heard him say this.... 2:13 - 2:40

And he talked constantly about Joe Bidens cognitive decline....🤦‍♂️

Given he's so anti-woke and anti-DEI, is there a chance he will try and bin off the Paralympics? He didn't mention them – only the Olympics.

"Can the US win?" (5:02). Depends how big your brown envelopes are, Donald...

I'm not quite sure why, but I carried on watching the whole thing and his response to someone who asked about the 'clash' between Musk and the other 'proper' politicians was stunning:

"No clash, you're just a trouble-maker. And you're not supposed to ask that question, because we're talking about the World Cup. Who are you with?"
"NBC"
"Ugh, no wonder. That's enough"

What a stroker :lolol: And he seems COMPLETELY unimpressed with the trophy, the ball and pretty much everything else that is going on!

I agree. Besides, an overweight 78-year-old man who loves his fast food and soda is at much higher risk of having a heart attack than a nutter with a gun getting past his secret service protection.
