I am getting more relaxed about Trump. No way am I standing up for him but he has got Europe waking up and realising that for all of my lifetime we have lived under their umbrella of security. It’s much more complex than that but Europe has not had the defence budget to protect itself because they haven’t needed it. Now they are rushing about and getting their houses in order. You have to remember that 200 years ago Europe was exploiting places like the USA, China and India among others. Brittania ruled the waves and most of Europe had colonies overseas exploiting natural resources. It’s not that long ago really and it’s seems to be coming back to bite us on the bum. What goes around comes around you might say. I doubt that the Big Orange is aware of that. Apparently he had no idea of the significance of Pearl Harbour! If you don’t learn from history you are in danger of repeating it, as has been said before.
It is true that there are some potential benefits in the long run to the current crisis.

Are we willing to sacrifice the Ukrainians in exchange though? Personally, I am not.

Certainly not, my point was that Europe were not in a position to defend Ukraine on their own, we were depending on the USA as usual and now we have that useful idiot as POTUS we are in the shit! It’s a wake up call and may rebound on Russia for all I know. Putin comes across all macho but 3 years of war takes its toll. They are calling for Korean troops ffs. Not sure how much resources he has left. Ukraine needs to hang in there with our help, hopefully. If Ukraine had been in NATO would he have attacked? Don't think so but what do I know.

Sadly, no. There seems to be a blanket acceptance of Trump's idiocy and ignorance throughout the ruling classes. Not one of the living ex Presidents has said a word. I'm hoping someone finds their balls soon and actually stands up and says something ...but, I'm not optimistic. It seems he has a free rein to destroy America.
More people seem to be speaking out. Not an ex president but Senator Chris Murphy (sorry I can’t provide the tic tok link) has provided a detailed analysis of Trump “6 weeks in” drawing comparisons with the corrupt oligarch regime in Russia ( he is of course a democrat - but that doesn’t mean he’s wrong)

Yeah, I agree. It’s a shit situation and European complacency is part of the legacy that’s enabled it. If Ukraine was in NATO, he definitely doesn’t go in, it would’ve been suicide.

Trump now saying that Russia’s recent increased attacks is ‘what anyone else would do’.

He’s not even hiding it now is he?
To be fair to Trump he said 'what anyone else in that position would do'.

And he's right.

Any other murderous barbarian dictator who is not interested in peace and is suddenly given the nod that their opponents had military aid and intelligence withdrawn from them would also increase their attacks on the civilians in the country they have invaded.

I assume that's what he meant anyway.

To be fair I'm not even going to listen to his rant. We all know how the radical Democrats acted at Trump's speech the other day. Utterly shameful.
I’m not necessarily saying I agree with what he said. But I find it useful to listen o a cross section of views before forming an opinion

I guess they're saying that it must take quite some work to be such an expert troller and to keep in 'character' as well as you do?
To forgo self respect and the respect of your peers to ensure NSC has a troll, is a selfless act.

The modern elective version of village idiocy needs to be respected.

Thanks for all you do for us Spence, you are appreciated.

😂😂😂😂😂 5/5 laughing emojis.

You still haven't answered my question. I am genuinely interested in how you see your country evolving? What do you see it would need to become to be the greatest ever country in history?
I am just trying to understand not have a go.
