I have a slight niggle with the 6 in a row thing.

We drew against Newcastle.

I know it's petty, but happier with the 4 Prem games in a row.
Nah, under the rules of the game we BEAT Newcastle. If it had gone to pens, I'd agree with you.

Do we think Weiffer has made up for the two points he cost us v Wolves?

Nice of us to have 5-6 minutes on MOTD with Lineker making his usual cock-up by saying we were playing at Fulham. If I were BBC management I would save some money and show him the door. He is so loveable of course it will not happen. :tosser:
He’s leaving at the end of this season.

It's up to the refs to stop it though isn't it?

We've conceded and won loads of similar pens.

If the players see them given, they are going to look to "win" a few for themselves.
Similar to the Anthony Gordon one earlier in the season when he dangled his leg in front of a defender from behind who was mid kick making a clearance and our disallowed goal when Van Hecke was deemed to have kicked a defender.
Seems to be something officials are giving this season so swings and roundabouts for me.

Thanks. I didn't see Raul's 'celebration' - a Brighton mate I was just in the pub with said it looked like he was going to do a somersault and pulled out - maybe remembering his skull fracture.

This group of players have a better bond with each other and Silva than virtually any in my life - maybe only Roy Hodgson and Micky Adams surpassed it, so I respectfully disagree with you on that.

Albion had to beat us at some point in the Prem - I almost wish it'd been more of a battering rather than in the way it happened today with a soft pen.
The penalty was 'umpire's call' really. Yes, in the strictest terms it was, but VAR would not have called the ref if he had ignored it.
From our end, the ref seemed soft on your fouls and ridiculous playacting, but I suppose that's only to be expected!
Quite. Had the penalty been given at the other end and all roles reversed, the referees thread on here would have reached the third page by the time the coaches had left the car park.

I'm not going to gloat. I have sneaky feeling that we may not have seen the last of Fulham this year.

(I have to clarify here for decent chap @BrightonCottager that I mean side and not club here. The idea of Fulham I like, a historic ground, realistic fans and easy journey / good food and booze away day. However, those players with that coach must be among the most dislikable in the league, summed up by Jiminez’s pointless, injury risking dive to celebrate what turned out to be a consolation.)
Anyone else find this a strange take? I thought Fulham played well, tough to beat, like they've been all season. I can see why we were linked with Bassey, excellent player, and Iwobi has become high class. And Jimenez was aways the prototype of the striker I most wished we'd signed back in the day and good to see him back at the top level since his injury.

Anyway a hard fought game between two good teams playing well and hard to beat, and thus nullifying each other for the most part. I thought once again Fab got his tactics spot on, preventing Fulham playing out from the back with any control, only perhaps the first 20 minutes of the second half did they start to get hold of the ball on the halfway line, and then our subs shifted the match back in our favour. The process was clear once again, high intensity, work hard, strength and skill up top, big injection of energy after the hour to see a game through. Four of our six wins in a row we've found ourselves 1-1 in the second half and gone on to win late on.

Very strange take I thought too. Apart from jiminez taking ages to get back to his own half after their goal, I don't remember any time wasting/feigning injury at all. In fact it was probably one of the most honest games we've played in all season I'd say!

Took me over 6 hours to get home tonight, but you could double that and I'd still have a huge grin on my face.
You just can't beat a last (injury time) minute winner.
Feels like the Mac Allister penalty winner vs Man U.
Something similar. Even the detours on the M27 had detours and then nearly an hour on a closed road behind a shunt.

But couldn't care less. Feels like a short drive to Dorsetshire when you win in that fashion.

And sorry to V66BHA for excitedly waving my scarf out of the window near Dorchester. I was still pumped on that result.

TBF that was unusual from Fulham yesterday. Much less time-wasting and niggly shite than usual

My opinion on them has been building since Silva took over, it’s not just based on yesterday. You don’t just watch one game and suddenly have a dislike for a way of going about things. It builds.

That said I guess you didn’t read post #563 in reply to HWT’s raising of exactly the same point?

Every effin team does the time wasting and niggly shite, we're just the same as everyone else, if not worse (better), so just can't see this as a reason to differentiate between teams. No, it's the criticism of the individual players I find strange, they have some impressive players there in my opinion

It varies significantly between teams though. Fulham have been worse than most for the last few seasons, but weren’t yesterday

Two poor goals in the first half……For theirs Iwobi just ran from in his own half down the line, Ayari couldn’t keep up or get close, and swung in a cross. Van Hecke misjudged the flight and Jimenez brought it down nicely and finished from close range.
I believe that there were even more Albion errors in conceding this goal against Fulham.

1. Van Hecke’s original misplaced ball over the top was very poor. Very easy for their fullback to find a teammate with a header.

2. Estupiñán was out of position when Iwobi received the ball. He did not have the pace to recover sadly.

3. Hinshelwood was not close enough to Van Hecke to cover an unmarked Jimenez. He then pulled his shirt which is very dangerous in the box.

Four players at fault and Bart wasn’t at his excellent best either.

Very impressive how we’ve come out on top in three matches in particular (Bournemouth, Newcastle and Fulham) where there is hardly any difference between the teams. Each of those matches could easily have gone the other way, but we won with a clear plan and excellent use of substitutes.

Best angle at 2:42. It‘s a foul anywhere on the pitch, Reed swings and kicks Pedro’s foot, completely missing the ball.

I didn’t think it was a penalty from the WSU or when I saw a few replays after the match. I thought it was extremely soft. I just couldn’t see the foul.

Anyway, looking at this angle from behind, I now have the opposite view!!!
