Good spot.

The club site itself hasn't put anything different up yet & still says Tuesday 1st pre-Villa, which is obviously wrong now that game's moved. But the Terace site does say 29th - link for those interested:

Nothing about whether that will be the grand opening or just a soft pre-opening, with the big one still happening on the Tuesday? Wednesday?

Hope it is a proper opening event like was originally planned for the Tuesday, might encourage more to come early and have a few more beers => better atmosphere for Forest.

It would be nice if people who get to the venue early don't then save seats for ages for the benefit of their friends who rock up much later.
I always found it frustrating in Dick's Bar when I would get there about 15 minutes after it opened and I was unable to get a seat because people had spread their belongings out to save seats for their mates who were 'on their way', eventually arriving about an hour later.

I'm not too sure much can be done about it apart from hoping for a bit of goodwill from others.
For me it's in the same category as bags on train or bus seats.

But like most people I don't like confrontation, so I usually accept their stance rather than create a bad atmosphere.
Perhaps some official signs that request no reserving of seats?

I agree with a full opening. Try and encourage people to get there earlier, decent weather will help with this. The later kick off also allows people to have a few more beers which deffo improves the atmosphere IMO. Should be a cracker!

I had this experience at Dicks. A group put coats down, I asked if a seat was taken and they said their friends were joining later. When I asked if I could perch in the meantime, a lady glared at me. I just stood drank my pint and left.

It will need managing somewhat. Be pretty rubbish if groups unofficially reserve seats while nursing a tea for two hours.

Limited seating anyway isn’t it? I’m sure I read it was a ‘sports bar aesthetic’ so people are encouraged to move around rather than sit down.

Have a bod at the door asking people if they want a table then ask for how many, if there are 2 bods who request 4 then they don’t get a table , if you want 4 then there needs to be 4 people, simples!

Similar experience at the Chelsea flower show in the food area. People would rather see others eat on the floor than give up a seat they'd reserved for no where to be seen friends.

You should have just sat down and told you happily vacate as soon as their friends arrived!

Just a big scroll across the screens occasionally saying "NO RULES ON STOOLS". Point at it and sit down.

its quite probable that they would open before the "official opening", just to test things out. I would be surprised if they didnt have a few tills open, maybe the cafe and a snacks outlet just to make sure it all works. Can you imagine the shitshow if they waited and just opened the doors on matchday only to find half the equipment doesnt work!

I will ride up on29 and 30th to see and hopefully try it out if there is a "soft" operning beforehand

You just need to firmly but politely ask them to move their belongings so you can use the seats as there are no reservations. Fine if someone has just nipped to the loo but not otherwise imo. If they object, just ask why they feel entitled to reserve an unreserved seat for someone who isn’t there.
