One thing I hope they don't do, is make me download another BLOODY APP to order in there, that will be my potential headloss.

Amen to that, although I suspect that is exactly what we will have to do

I find READING stuff, helps avoid making assumptions, and getting unnecessarily wound up, sometimes.

All food and drink will be ordered digitally, online, on the Brighton & Hove Albion App or via ground floor digital screen order points and collected in the Heineken Fan Zone dedicated areas when displayed as ready.

So you are saying that if 1000 people choose to stay behind it won't make a dent, when its alleviating a whole 3 trains worth of capacity. I know it isn't great, but that is a significant dent, that would clear a whole worth of Brighton bound trains for half an hour on midweek. That for me is significant.
Not really 3 trains worth though, is it? If you were going with the seated capacity then maybe but the way people are shoe-horned on and the mix of 3, 4 and 8 car trains, 2 seems much more likely.

Why the snarkiness? 500 more people delaying their journey home could mean the average wait for a train drops several minutes per passenger. I don't really understand why you are so dismissive of that. We are never going to get to the point where we everyone can walk straight onto the platform. Nobody is trying to make the argument that this will solve all the transport woes, but anything that can alleviate things, as this is likely to do, is surely something to be welcomed. It might not be a step change in the transport experience, but won't be a "drop in the ocean" either.
Snarkiness is due to the pitiful post-evening-match train provision. Still going to be typically a shitty 20 minute scrum for a shitty 3 carriage train. Apologies for not providing a crayon drawing in primary colours for the hard of thinking :dunce:

With the front of the facility all opened up and people spilling out onto the area just outside the building, I would imagine it will be a challenge to monitor how many people are in the building.

I would also be interested to know how many toilets are available as I think quite a lot of people outside the stadium may want the loo occasionally even if they are not using the fan zone.

Not seen your explanation. Common logistical sense would suggest it's complete bolleaux tho eh
I think it shows how few people use the train relatively as to clear an entire 30k of people using only trains (based on the 367 capacity of a 377/4 train) you would need 84 units, so half that as you can run 2 units per train, you have 42 train services. That's never going to be possible. So with about estimated 10-15k of people using the train that would be 40 4 car units in all directions. 3k in a fanzone brings that down by 8, its not perfect but its well over half an hour's worth of train capacity in both directions on a midweek.

What a great idea. I’ll borrow my daughter’s Amex card, I’m sure she won’t mind a few more £££s to pay off at the end of the month as I omit to to tell her that I’ve taken my three mates with me and larged it on Cruzcampo, Melts and other goodies.
Don't forget to sign her up for the 10% discount though.

But its not a 3 car, every 20 minute service, its every 10 minutes with 4 carriage services, on midweeks, that is almost double. Lets get those facts right first.

Got the sums for 1k in a fanzone in the winter months? Which in the UK is about 80% of the season 😄

Yes so that would be 3 trains, combined with the concourse, either way reducing the number of the first 3 loads of people on trains is significant, what of course is the mitigating factor is that will a fanzone encourage people to stay behind? Can I see people staying behind still if they weren't already after an evening kick off, judging by travel distance for most probably not.

This all feels a bit unnecessary.

One of the benefits of The Terrace is that it will provide a pleasant alternative for some fans who don't need to rush away from the Amex at the end of the game. Some, not all.

The fact is a large majority of fans do want to rush away at the end of an evening game because they need to travel home, get to bed and be up for work the following day. Hell, a lot of folk rush away before the end of games to speed up their escape.

It looks to be a fantastic facility which will provide many benefits, some marginal and some more significant, such as being a place where a large group of Albion fans can gather to watch live beambacks of away games, not otherwise available to watch anywhere else.

I'm not sure it deserves to be rubbished before it's even opened, just because it's not a heated and catered railway waiting room for 15,000 people.

Not really. At some point the marketing fantasy has to give way to the reality of a winter evening match. Unless you live within easy walking distance of the fanzone or implicitly trust the trains - never a wise move - or are an easy drive away, then you just want to get home asap

Yes but based on this season, there is 1 scheduled evening winter midweek home league match (I'm not counting Friday matches).

Just found this whilst loading the 10% stadium Cashback offer onto my Amex card. It's linked in the Amex T&C's

Looks like there's going to be some option for ordering online in the new fanzone

Possibly it's just a 'test' menu but Laurent Perrier Brut at £140 a bottle could be a game changer for my pre-match drinking routine :ROFLMAO:
£2.20 for a vegan kitkat as well
