Just far enough away from LDC
We need a trade deal with them big time. And we definitely don't want ridiculous tariffs.
We need an economic deal not a trade one. Remember who has the surplus here! We are in a very different space. But working on science, research, ai etc is a deal we need to support the govt growth agenda. Peter Kyle (hove mp) has that remit

Exactly. Could be crucial, if a little nauseating
At times, it was a bit cringe. But he laid down some important markers...one being that history cannot be on the side of the aggressor and that Russia's aims cannot be achieved.

I would have loved to have been at the Starmer de-brief after that meeting. I wonder if the words batshit, crazy, unhinged or doolally were used
The amount of Civil Service work that must have gone into that visit. War gaming, murder boards, briefing on every conceivable question and scenario. It would have been full of nervous anticipation.

Im sure that Starmer, Lammy, Mandelson all had a huge sigh of relief, but Number 10 and Foreign Office staff will all have several drinks tonight..........and so they should.
