Also, have a thing up saying when the trains are going to be, half the problem is waiting for trains and not knowing when they’re turning upTL;DR: add distractions to the queue for the trains.
here follows a long winded answer to the not moving problem.
there is the famous story about mirrors in lifts being used to give people something to do so that time perceived to pass quicker.
my own experience of this was at Euro Disney. I went just after it opened. for many reasons (weather/bad press/school day) there were no queues at that time. However one ride had a queue. It was the star wars 3d ride. it was fun, but it was more fun in the queue, because there were Jawas and r2d2 and all other sorts of star wars characters and noises to keep me entertained.
If the waiting a long time cannot be solved, then we could perhaps solve it by fixing the perception of waiting a long time. here are some ideas:
* they could put some large displays in front of or along the queues that show highlights of the game or other ongoing games (like we do on the concourse).
* displays could be used for a "Fan Wall" display showing live social media reactions and fan photos from the match they just watched (I have seen similar things at computer conferences).
* Interactive quizzes that are displayed on a screen that you can do on your phone (like Kahoot!).
* same thing, but player rating thing maybe through the Brighton app.
* there are things that are outside the ground before the game that could also be there after the game like bands and djs, and gully wandering around.
* in the spirit of the starwars ride could we have lifesize Bobby Z, Wardy and Fozzy figures with iconic commetry being played
* would we collectively fall for mirrors again, like we did with lifts?
or is this just not cricket and as well trained english people should just learn to enjoy the queue?
That was my thoughts tooI think for me the biggest benefit will be the ability to get to the ground early and meet friends who sit in other stands or travel by other means than I do, whilst enjoying the surroundings of a wetherspoons/Amazon warehouse hybrid.
Quite a lot of young couples on dates by the looks of it as well!Just what I was thinking too! I spotted an elderly lady in a tweed skirt, a man in a suit, and a smart fella in chinos. Not an Albion shirt to be seen.
Not a badly fitting way too tight replica shirt anywhereThere was that was sitting as if having a dump
Will it though, are there that many fans who aren't made of the thousands that already currently stay for a beer in the concourses (and Dicks until January), who will suddenly be hanging around after games now rather than jumping on the first train? It's not the answer to transport problems but it will certainly help in at least half the games we have.
I wonder if it'll be open to away fans (except the usual bubble games obvs)?
That was my thought as well, it’s all very nice but will be rammed and I imagine all the seats will be gone from 3 hours before kickoff. If I stay after the game I go to the North Stand or East Lower if I am with the kids, the Terrace being there will not determine if I stay after the game it will just shift some of the supporters that use the stands. Will it though, are there that many fans who aren't made of the thousands that already currently stay for a beer in the concourses (and Dicks until January), who will suddenly be hanging around after games now rather than jumping on the first train?
As i see it, most people who already stay behind after will want to try the Fanzone when it opens, so will simply relocate to the new bar.
And when that means the queues are massive, many people will sack it off and hit the station.
Perhaps I'm beingly overly negative but anyone who has seen how busy the concourses are after games anyway will surely have had similar thoughts.
As I understand the concourses will still operate as per normal (so the North will remain open) in addition to The Terrace therefore providing covered post match hospitality for more people after the game and on sunny days easier access to food and drink on the outer concourse. So I think more people will be able to stagger their exit than before. Will it though, are there that many fans who aren't made of the thousands that already currently stay for a beer in the concourses (and Dicks until January), who will suddenly be hanging around after games now rather than jumping on the first train?

A whole Chicken Katsu with 0 calories is an absolute steal for a tenner.I noticed this link in the AMEX card discount offer on the app:
Not sure if they're real stalls and items to be sold (in the only one currently populated) or just dummy placeholders.

Maybe, on a Saturday. But the trains are not too bad for Saturday games at 12:30/15:00/17:30 kick off times; I'd suggest also there's generally less pressure/imperative for people to get away quickly from the ground on a Saturday.
20:00 week night kick off. Different story altogether. People want away promptly when the game finishes at 22:00 on a week night. The
Bingo ! - good prediction from 15 months ago .It says Dicks will be “incorporated” into the new building. My guess is they’ll simply name a bar after him and stick that mosaic on a wall nearby.
I stayed for a drink post match with some mates (tea for me as I’m teetotal) after Chelsea to avoid train queues in a pretty busy North Stand concourse. I hung around cos, well, we’d won. Maybe we might have tried the fanzone if it had been open instead. Will it though, are there that many fans who aren't made of the thousands that already currently stay for a beer in the concourses (and Dicks until January), who will suddenly be hanging around after games now rather than jumping on the first train?

Its going to be named The Terrace - seems. a bit generic. Agreed it could have been something more associated with the club history etc The Goldstone ?Still hoping this will be named after Dick Knight
