The match tonight had 0-0 written all over it from 5 minutes.

Absolute complete lack of that extra bit where a player goes forward instead of sideways,
or sideways instead of back.

It was like watching relegation-threatened West Brom of several years ago versus relegation-threatened Baggies, with relegation threatened Throstles watching on.

If either of these go up they will stink the place out and go down again.

My pal Bob said to me on 85 minutes, just beating me to it, that that was an our and a half of his life that he regrets that he will never get back.

Red Bull Leeds will spend $$$.
I'm not sure if they will be in a position to spend huge amounts. Although they have received some bounties recently. The current squad will need additions though.

Burnley have drawn 0-0 in 4 of their last 5 home games and 6 of their last 10.
A quick look has them with EIGHT 0-0 draws this season alone. At this rate the bookies won't be offering odds.

That's as many as we have had in four.

Nine after tonight, and six of them at home. Basically home games consist of Burnley passing the ball around at the back waiting for a gap to appear in the opposition defence, and the opposition make sure a gap doesn't appear, so it finishes 0-0. Parker doesn't have a plan B because he is happy if we can get home draws against the likes of Stoke, Derby and Preston, so he doesn't want to risk anything wild and adventurous like playing two up front in case we lose.

Fortunately few home teams are willing to pack the defence and so we can win away games consistently.

Dyche played a more entertaining brand of football than Parker. If we do go up, it will be dreadful. We've scored 10 in the last 13 home games, and that with a squad better or as good as at least 20 of the other 23 teams. Lord knows what it will be like against better teams.

Here are the results for 2025 at Turf Moor. 0-0. 0-0. And 0-0. Oxford next - put your money on 0-0.

That's the kind of run that will really get @Tom Hark Preston Park going

I detest Leeds and their fans but I thought Sunderland were so negative they got what they deserved. Surely their best bet was to stretch Leeds but they defended deeper and deeper with no one up front, eventually falling to goals from a free kick and a corner.

Poor game management from Sunderland. The way Leeds play, it was aways likely they'd score once Sunderland went so defensive. Big opportunity missed for them.

I predict a riot.

(great club-specific triumph soundtrack at the end of a game.

What have we got?)

Leeds are the only team of real quality I've seen in Div 2 this year. Not seen much of Sheffield United though. Both will need to strengthen.

Burnley will bore the league out, so I'm hoping for a different play off winner.

I see nothing in the Championship this season to suggest anything other than the promoted three go straight back down. at the end of 25/26.

The yardstick they have to better to stay up is Wolves, a side that pushed Liverpool all the way just yesterday. Wolves have a world class player in Cunha who in one single player - if they sell him - will generate more of a transfer kitty than any of the promoted three can muster.

I don’t mind if Leeds are promoted. I lived there for a while and still have friends l stay in touch with, including a couple of Leeds fans. I don’t think it’s given that they’ll be relegated. Far too early to say, surely? So much depends on the summer transfers.

I find Burnley and Sheff Utd pretty tedious prospects though. We’ve seen too much of them in recent seasons. Of the others currently at the top, it’d be fun to see Sunderland up again. A good away trip. I’ve not been to Blackburn so they’ll do too.

I'd argue Leeds were a stronger team last season when they failed to get promoted despite having Rutter, Summerville and Archie Gray. Who are their Prem quality players this season?

I am getting more enjoyment watching the tussle between Leeds, Burnley and Sheff Utd than the top teams in the Premier.
It's perfect really, you can watch Leeds and Sheffield United for some atmosphere and adrenaline, then you can watch Burnley to gently send you off to sleep.
