A few history lesson may be needed to West Ham. The below extract is taken from the BBC match report from todays game against Brentford:

With the home fans appearing restless, a number of boos greeted the half-time whistle.

It's a process, we know that. There were positives to draw on from today, it's all about the building blocks. Brentford are a bit further down their journey, you can see that. The work we're doing, getting players to adapt, takes time, we're pleased with the progress, if anything this has been quicker than we anticipated.

The boos won't go down well with Mr Potter! Wonder if he'll be asked to comment on that?😁😁

Watched this and in the first half West Ham were dreadful. Easily as bad as us at Forest. They were lucky not to be four down at the break. Ferguson was lively when he came on.

The previous times I've said that plenty of Brighton fans are anti-Bloom, people say "nah no one would ever" and I have to drag out a bunch of quotes and threads filled with people bemoaning everything Tony does and have done. The latest of these "what has Tony ever done for us" conversations was only days ago with team THPP against team Random sensible people in some thread or another.

People like to have the cake and eat it to. By day time they are superfans gatekeeping the mighty Albion from all of the outside world and its horrors (players fiering up the crowd, drums and other evil shit) obediently kneeling in front of king Tony and by night they moan about him being too dumb and cheap not to submit to the guy who wanted to do the opposite of how Tony has been running things.

Its a nice way to make sure that people can be ungrateful as f*** and still label themselves as superfans.
To be honest, who gives a shit what you think. You’ve never seen Brighton play live, you have no attachment to our club or our city apart from following Potter.. your views are irrelevant- you don’t live it, breathe it, like everyone else on here. The sooner you f*** off to the hammers forum the better.

Even as a well known Potter skeptic I have to acknowledge their squad is awful. Their fans should be getting after Lady “my process is the delaying one in the Lords” Brady.

They won’t though, the thick fvckers.

TBF, quite a few posters on their forum recognised that they had a shit squad, and that Potter has a fair old job on his hands to turn things round. Yes, I was quite surprised!

Potter … the real words!

“The first half was nowhere near where we want to be

We suffered from an early goal, which is a poor goal from our perspective. And then without too much happening in the game, they had too many transitions that were dangerous.

In fairness, credit to Brentford, when we conceded the goal that we did, it almost plays into the game that they want it to be. They defend deep, well, and it’s hard to create real opportunities against them.

If you don’t attack well, you expose yourself to them attacking big spaces, which they’re very good at.

So, it’s understandable, but again, not what we wanted at all. So we all have to learn from that. I think the second half was a real positive response.

Of course you want to get results, you want to win football matches. That’s just the Premier League for you, and you have to understand that. But yeah, results-wise, we all want to win, we all want to have success.

In the second half Jarrod Bowen was adamant he should have had a penalty when he was shoved by Keane Lewis-Potter, but nothing was given.

“Yeah, we looked at it and it was certainly a case for it,” added Potter. “I was surprised the VAR didn’t have a look at it, to be honest.”
