A few history lesson may be needed to West Ham. The below extract is taken from the BBC match report from todays game against Brentford:

Not often i want this guy to win, but today i did. And he fluffed it. Didn't even win on xG. Knob.
It's a process, we know that. There were positives to draw on from today, it's all about the building blocks. Brentford are a bit further down their journey, you can see that. The work we're doing, getting players to adapt, takes time, we're pleased with the progress, if anything this has been quicker than we anticipated.

Glad to see Potter, and the Swede, are learning that Brighton fans are actually among the least demanding and most patient in the league. Can't imagine Graham will have the balls to dig out the West Ham fans for booing. Funny that.

TBF, quite a few posters on their forum recognised that they had a shit squad, and that Potter has a fair old job on his hands to turn things round. Yes, I was quite surprised!

So, it’s understandable, but again, not what we wanted at all. So we all have to learn from that. I think the second half was a real positive response.
Of course you want to get results, you want to win football matches. That’s just the Premier League for you, and you have to understand that. But yeah, results-wise, we all want to win, we all want to have success.
In the second half Jarrod Bowen was adamant he should have had a penalty when he was shoved by Keane Lewis-Potter, but nothing was given.
“Yeah, we looked at it and it was certainly a case for it,” added Potter. “I was surprised the VAR didn’t have a look at it, to be honest.”
