Keep, I hope they are helping him on the training field, there is some serious talent there if we can point it in the right direction at the right time...

Must be given a decent run of games.

By having someone willing to shoot, he sucks in defenders much like mitoma. That creates space for others. Also one of the only players we have with talent to unlock a low block.

Many many goals in the PL go in from outside the box, or are saved but pushed into the path of a striker who slots it home.

To say taking a shot vs playing intricate passes in the box doesn't work is clearly false.

Clearly he's some real talent. Clearly a very good engine as he runs and presses the ball brilliantly.

Needs to get the decisions slightly better and to not fall over for a foul so often. But that's being young and getting game time.

He's had two proper starts. Give the poor lad some time.

We can all see there is talent there. Hell RDZ said he was very special.

Get behind the kid, give him support and confidence. If Fab can coach him a little he's a match winner for us.
I hope he does come good. Sucking in defenders is good but only if he then chooses a good alternative option. Of course he will rightly shoot sometimes to ensure the defenders have to confront him. I just wish his passing accuracy was better as well as his decision making

In his preferred position of 2nd striker, if he can develop a very good partnership and understanding with Delap at Ipswich, it bodes well for when he rejoins the squad this summer and finds himself possibly partnering Delap’s clone, Tzimas.

Nah, that would imply someone at the club has foresight and some sort of plan for player development - doesn’t seem as though anyone believes that’s the case though

At the moment he’s just Maupay in disguise. I do want it to click for him, I really do, but it hasn’t yet, and the problem with young players is that sometimes it never clicks.

If it doesn’t click at Ipswich either, then I just don’t see him coming back here and getting in the team. He apparently won’t sign a new contract either, so I’d say it’s almost odds-on that he’s sold in the summer.

If he won't sign a new contract, he won't come back.
He's not coming back. He has 18 months left (unless there is a magic clause somewhere) on his contract and 6 of those are at Ipswich. He literally stood at the away end after the Man Utd game and waved goodbye for ages.

Don't know about "magic clause", but it has been reported (by reputable sources) that Albion have a further one-year option.

That is excellent news. A lot of contracts from that era had a "one year option"

Oh no Enciso injured his knee again..

That is sad.

Its's obvious that he wants to play and impress.

Must be weird for him seeing his old mate Diego Gomez enjoying early success at Albion too.
