Not read the whole thread, so apologies if already discussed. Who was the Albion player at the back post who falls backwards as we scored the third? Made me chuckle.

We have to have a Georginio cam next game :lolol:

Come on PBOBE, pull your finger out.

Just woke up, what an evening, freezing but totally worth it

A total team performance I felt.
I notice multiple interviewed players used “compactness” as a driver for the win and it was evident how strong we were working as a unit. Ironically I called out not seeing us go to 5 at the back when out of possession a few weeks back as Fab was known for it at St Pauli.

Glad he literally set fire to the tactics and has found something that works. First time in 3 years I got 11/11 on the starting eleven prediction, which shows stability is also beneficial.

Im big enough to admit I was questioning our identity, style and whether Fab had the dressing room after some poor performances and Forest being the final straw but also big enough to admit the last two have been a total contrast in effort and planning. He’s learning so fair play.

Amex wins under the lights, you can’t beat it

Just got home back to St Leonard’s 0150. Stayed behind for a pint and thought I’d let the queue die down. Something needs to do be done to sort out the train service. It’s an absolute shambles. No wonder there’s hundreds of ticket available every match day.
If we keep playing like that it will be a bun fight to get home tickets though. There are a few good reasons why it was not a full house last night

Tbf a couple of them viewed Mitoma's goal they way any normal football fan would have when scored against you
Who the f*** watches this shit when the game is on tv?

I cannot envisage a scenario where I’d choose to watch an Albion game like this. Even without Sky or a dodgy firestick or stream.

It’s an NSC matchday thread on video :lolol:

No thanks!

There was some strong analysis of the cup game that said we went narrow to force them to push the ball out wide, where we let them have possession. With no striker, we marked the cross options out of the game, so they had to recycle the ball back again and again. Lots of possession no threat.

Then we press together to win the ball high up the pitch or use the ball over the top as our core attacking options.

And it looked to me like that is exactly what we did (again) last night. I'm not sure it will work so well against sides with strikers, but it was a dream last night.

What a game. What a team.

Edit: here is the video. Well worth a watch:

Beat them twice in a week ? That’s a tall order , but wouldn’t it be great !
if the ball runs for us , our lads have their shooting boots on - We could do it.
That’s not a prediction though. As long as we see a good performance tonight that’s the main thing. :albion:
Good not a prediction, that.

I could be wrong, but a lot of it is about the hits/clicks/views AFTER the game. A lot of rival fans love to watch other fans have a meltdown. And the people filming it probably don't give too much of a shit because it's earning them money.

To me this all shows a manager who is flexible. A manager who can make a plan, communicate it and drill it into the players in a week. It shows a team fully committed to implementing the manager's plans.

I've never seen us low block a team to that extent at home, i've never see us allow the wingers so much space, certainly in the first half. But it worked. What other teams do to us, we did to Chelsea.

That result and the one last week is a credit to the manager, just as the Forest debacle was a horrendous cock up by the manager. But he's young, he's learning. I think he has a deep understanding of the game. Where I think he can still improve is in his in game reactivity.

But just like our young players who are still inconsistent and still get found out sometimes, his scope for improvement is vast. We need to get behind him and stick with him through the bad times.

Yep, graceless pr*ck
Some similar things have been said - maybe not that harsh - were said about Fab In the past month. Funny how these things turn around

Aragorn: you've already humiliated Chelsea
Pippin: we've had one, yes, but what about a second Chelsea humiliation?
Merry: I don't think he knows about second Chelsea humiliations, Pip.

and on that note I think I am going to rewatch the game instead of preparing to move house, which is what I should be doing today.
