Wow.

We were acquaintances of Chris the bassist. He used to hang out at the Nashville on North End Road on the late 70s.
I first saw the Members when Nicky Tesco was a shy retiring singer.
I told Chris he needs to tell him to pull his socks up.
I saw them later at the Marquee and they were magnificent.

So they owe their career to me.
Fact.
Still have 'The Sound of the Suburbs' single from '78.

This is a great thread btw.

Every so often I get reminded of why I love music so much; I had a moment a few years ago when I went to see Nils Frahm. He usually runs a series of warm up gigs at his studio before his main tour…I literally sat on the floor a metre from him and his various instruments.

I was there too.
Juicy Lucy turned up so late that the roadies had to remove their equipment from the stage and replace it with Colosseum's. Juicy Lucy then arrived and the roadies had to remove their equipment an reinstate Colosseum's ! Glen Fernando Campbell (ex misunderstood) was their steel guitarist. I've never heard anything quite like it. He could have drowned out the sound of a 747. My hearing has never been the same !

I saw John Miles 2 or 3 times around the late 70s - the first being March 1978.

Oddly, I was going through loads of old photos this afternoon and came across this one. Not sure if this was the 1978 gig or a year or two later. What is striking is the very basic stage setup/kit ... and just am old curtain as a backdrop. This was at Bournemouth Winter Gardens.

First concert I was taken to was the Radio One Chart Show at Brighton Dome which had McFly, All Saints, Nelly Furtado, Girls Aloud and Beyonce.

Great experience for 9 year old me.

First concert I chose to go to was Example at Brighton Centre which was also great.

Then it would have been Crossfaith at Concorde 2, incredible band to see live.

Newmarket.
Another Saxon at The Brighton Centre 1981 attendee here.
If I remember correctly I wore a black leather jacket and a patch covered denim waistcoat over the top.
I definitely remember my ears wooshhhhhhhing later that night trying to get to sleep and my neck hurting the following day from all the headbanging.

10 years later I saw them again at theThe Worthing Assembly Halls.

Saw the Thompson Twins in Jenkinsons underneath the brighton centre. Don't know what year. Also saw one of the Spizz incarnations there plus Tenpole Tudor. used to love that venue, but the ceiling always seemed so low.
Jenkinsons mentioned on here.
