Yes, it counted - strange his earlier mistake seemed to have blinded many to that cracking save - it was barely mentioned on the match thread. I also thought he recovered well - Sanchez used to sulk the rest of the game when he made errors.

My only minor grumbles with Bart is too many of his goal kicks are hoofed well into the final third and unnecessarily concedes possession giving teams an immediate opportunity to counter - and your second point - last night several times I thought he was too slow to pass out putting receiving FBs under unnecessary pressure.
Objectively, Verbruggen is a better goalkeeper than Sanchez. Verbruggen has been hopelessly exposed at times this season and he made a poor error on Saturday, but when keepers make mistakes they almost always end up as goals.

He'll recover from it and when he does, he'll continue his upward trajectory

No, your point is you’re blind to mounting questions justifiably being asked, just as Sanchez was / still is. Age has nothing to do with. Good enough old enough. Except he’s not PL good. Too many clangers. So let’s find someone who doesn’t gift as many whilst he practices in the reserves (if Steele available) or even elsewhere.
Is that the Jason Steele that's been the subject of numerous unjustified witch-hunts on here over the last 3 years?

All keepers go through a bad period. This is Bart’s . Stick with him as he’s a gifted keeper. Not saying we shouldn’t give Rushworth mayb a game at some point to expose him to the Premier League but Bart should be our number one.

........................and just bin off Beadle? Okey-doke.
Bin off Beadle?

Err no, but what's your plan, rotate the 3?

As things stand Rushworth is in the squad and has a chance of displacing our out of form number one. I don't have a strong view either way

Personally think Bart will be a top keeper! He has already played in a Euros semi for his country!
His confidence must have taken a bashing from letting in 7 last week and he made a bad error last night!
He'll be fine and doesn't need the mindless, knee jerk vitriol some in here are giving him!
When players are poor they should be dropped and he’s no different. Bart’s made lots of clangers, pointing this out is neither knee jerk (because it’s been throughout the season) nor vitriolic.

And i can't help think that some time out of the side could help him long term.

He's probably made 5 or more errors leading to goals. It's a lot. All this bullshit about Real Madrid wanting him hasn't helped him at all I don't think

Fair post, but for me now is the moment just to remove Bart from the pressure, and only for a few games.

Easy to argue both ways, but Bart just looks like he’s beginning to struggle a little.
Nothing wrong with that, and he’ll only improve.

Good goalie and I’m pleased we have him.

One game maybe. Say to him, go and have a week off in the sun. Come back refreshed for the run-in. Also gives Rushworth a PL debut and justifies bringing him back from loan.

BBC live text mentioned he was the second Albion keeper to register a PL assist, anyone know when the other one was?
