It’s fair to say I’m on the fence about Fab, with one of the reasons being very few players seem to have improved under his watch. The exception seems to be Joel.

JPVH, Baleba, Ayari, Rutter, Hinshelwood, Welbeck, Minteh, Webdini and Lamptey all beg to differ.

Not sure you can judge players like Rutter and Minteh who weren’t already at the club and I don’t think we’ve seen enough of Hinsh or Webster to really judge. JPVH and Welbeck were class last season.

However, Lamptey has largely been better and you’re 100% right on Ayari and Baleba.

It’s fair to say I’m on the fence about Fab, with one of the reasons being very few players seem to have improved under his watch. The exception seems to be Joel.
Rutter, Minteh, Wieffer, O’Riley, Gruda , Kadioglu are in their first season, Ayari is just starting to make first team appearances. How can you judge whether players have improved when you have no evidence of previous performances?
Add to that March and Hinshelwood have come back from long term injuries, Igor out for the season and Milner is still on the stretcher.

You are correct about Joel, we always play better when he is in the team (forget Forest though!). Van Hecke is a rock and Adam Webster, when he’s required, is less accident prone than in previous seasons. Even Tariq Lamptey is getting back to his old form of a few years back (again, forget Forest!). Bart, in goal, is having a bit of a wobbly patch but when on form is class. Carlos Baleba is outstanding and it’s no wonder that the “bigger” clubs are casting envious eyes in his direction.

I suppose, in my view, the two players who may be suffering a bit are Dunk and Estupinan. Dunky‘s age is catching up with him and is picking up more injuries now than in previous seasons. Pervis has not retained his brilliant form of two seasons ago. On the plus side we are soon to see Diego Gomez and Eiran Cashin strut their stuff.

In conclusion it may be best to wait until the end of the season before casting judgement on both manager and players but I must admit to still being a glass half full fan. :ascarf:
