I wonder if the linesman wasn't even watching carefully as in his mind he thought VAR would bail him out if he was wrong
I think he was day dreaming, focused, and possibly even hallucinating a greggs steak bake as his watch was buzzing at 90 minutes

All he could see at the time was the back of slabhead . . . . . Which. Is a similar shape, and was possibly steaming hot with flaky bits

or maybe he's just a slow blind pie muncher Manure fane with a flag

And credit to Amorim for saying so.
I quite like the bloke to be honest. I just have absolutely no idea why he’s there, and I think he’s looking around him wondering the same. Top coach, doing phenomenal work in Europe, to come to what he already knew was an absolute shit show.

He knows it, everyone knows it. Obviously he’s on retirement and millionaire money after one contract, but if this guy can’t do it I don’t know who or what can save them.

I don’t care for them, but I think I quite like everything their gaffer has said. Desperately trying to give everyone - the players, fans and owners a massive reality check about just how bad they are.

And let’s not forget this club sacked Solsjær with them about 6th having just won a major competition, they sacked Mourinho, Van Gaal… they are so inept it’s hilarious. Clueless club and entitled fans which make many of our fans admitted entitlement look like nothing

Came to this thread to say this. He comes across really well, no papering the cracks, no pretending he didn’t see things, blaming himself not the players for a poor performance, and acknowledging they got lucky with an offside goal. I hope other managers start to follow his approach.

I also like that he’s very public about what a mess things are and how long it’ll take to turn around.

Must be difficult for any manager to have true autonomy with Sir Alex's eyes burning the back of your head every game. The fans and club have not moved on from the 90s... Leeds are the same, stuck in the early 1970s and well Sheff Wed are stuck in the 1910s. Now that's entitlement chaps.

Maybe the lino deliberately made the mistake last night to shift people’s opinion back to being pro VAR.

Not true. What some anti-VAR people want is for it to be retained and used sensibly. VAR could have disallowed this offside goal in 10 seconds, and should have done, and that would be the correct use of VAR. But if VAR had been in use, Leicester's goal would have been scrutinised for several minutes and it's anybody's guess whether it would have been allowed - that's the part of VAR that is hated.

If VAR would only go back to the rule about level being onside and level being judged in the real world as opposed to the "my toenail is longer than yours" world, then VAR offsides could be done more or less instantly.

Proper FA cup tie this, ropey pitch, awful weather, crowd right next to the pitch, weird camera angle

Had to be something like this as he could not, in any way, have considered that to be onside.

I thought that the Assistant Referee was supposed to assist the Referee not Manure!

Ratcliffe has this dream of a Wembley of the north, billions to build and therefore be paid for. Why does everything have to be so expensive and be saddled with debt at the expense of people eg the fans and culture that made OT what it is? It seems everywhere the only solution these hawks can come up with is astronomical vanity projects that destroy and divide those that ultimately have to foot the bill. Bloke comes across as a prat not a panacea to Man U’s ‘woes’ (subjective!). A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
