That was with all respect over 20 years ago now, when the world of football was a very different place. It’s not a good tactic in the year 2025.
20 years ago it was good to have a big man up front who just bullied people and banged in the goals. Nothing like that now.

Chris Wood is a player who is trained to be a striker, Adam Webster is a centre back.

There’s several , perhaps plenty of valid things to raise an eyebrow about when it comes to FAB’s tactics and selections. Adam Webster spending a few injury time minutes trying to win a few headers at Everton, or Verbruggen going up for the corner to earn a point is not one of em. And it’s a total red herring. All last roll of the dice stuff. Most coaches have done similar. Sometimes it pays off.
But enough jokes about poor old Adam Webster…

This, the fact some worry we aren’t towing the club line on here is nauseating.
Forest’s whole game is built round Chris Wood. It’s to Nuno’s credit that instead of seeing a traditional 9 as a problem to be loaned out, he’s used good full backs and two great attacking players in Elanga and Gibbs-White to feed him.
Throwing on Webster for five minutes in a role Ferguson should be in is hardly the same thing.

That said.... where is the smoke coming from?
He said “midfielder” and Hinshelwood was the only player selected to start who remotely fits that description (even though he’s played full / wing back just as much). We were playing 4-1-3-2 or 4-1-4-1 for all the first half and expecting Mitoma, Minteh and one of Pedro or Rutter to make up the numbers at the back. Minteh was good at it but the others weren’t and Forest constantly overloaded our left flank or their inside left position. Very obvious from six rows from the front and had a whole one pint pre match thanks to the early start.
I haven't seen one single person with such a worry.
I did once see someone towing a line, though.

Exactly. Imagine that pathetic toadying attitude on here in 96-97. We simply wouldn’t have a club now.
Agreed. We’ve done it before with Dunk and Duffy under the last 3 managers as well
