Okay, worst result in decades, but does it matter? Not to me, no - it would be far more worrying if it was a regular occurrence, but it simply isn't.
The knee-jerk/wetting posts on here have me laughing, and there's no doubt that I needed a bit of cheer, after that.
All said and done, we're still doing 'reasonably' well...in the Prem, of all places.
Knock Chelsea out next week and the mood will be entirely different - quelle surprise.

5-0 defeats can happen to sides that are generally sound. I can't think of a case where a good side has suffered a random 7-0 defeat.
The message of the last few months has been that if you have a game plan against us you will have a good chance of getting the result you want. The hype around our attacking prowess has meant that many teams have taken a defensive approach. Now that our weaknesses have been so publically exposed I can see teams being a lot more ambitious.

No, it doesn't.

The first half wasn't a 3-0 - despite the crazy line-up - everything went for them and absolutely nothing went for us.

At the beginning of the second, we were the better side, couldn't find a goal and then got hit as we chased. Heads and morals dropped, and they took full advantage.

What hurts us is all the other points we've thrown away. If we've got 6-8 points more, we put it down as "one of those days", reflect we're well-placed and move on.
Not just the one result though , not sure we have put one completed 90mins together yet all season ? So many changes game after game and even in game can’t get a run going . This has been comming for a while in my opinion. Now we see Ensisco and Evan leave on loan when apart from Murray it’s another area since we have been in prem where we always seem short in . Why are we giving such a young and inexperienced coach a project or process to try in the prem ? Suicide!

No it doesn't matter. We aren't qualifying for Europe. We aren't going to win the cup. We aren't getting relegated. Huërzler is learning Premier League on the job. We are preparing for next season now. No need to over react. Forest signed a glut of players last year. Look where they are now. Forest got battered last week by a hot team. We got battered by a team in a hot season this week. So no, it doesn't matter. I had already given up on this season. Nothing changed. Arguably Wieffer, Ferdi and O'Riley were the big summer signings outside of Rutter and Georgino. Wieffer and Ferdi haven't been seen for months and O'Riley is still coming back from a bad injury and operation. I'm not happy that Buananotte, Enciso and Ferguson have gone on loan but hopefully they will get three more months playing than they would have had had here and come back like new summer signings.

That was all down to the players overcoming a poor team selection with no plan or tactics. Oh, and being fortunate to score more than the opposition.
I’m not Fab out but winning at Ipswich (who have just lost at home to Southampton) and Norwich (Championship) is hardly evidence of great form or playing well. We were just playing teams worse than us. We have 15 points from the last 14 games (after 19 points in our opening 10 games), which isn’t great form.

Beat Chelsea the week after and we’ll be back in the race to win the league

What about 6/0…what’s your diagnosis on that one

Dunk came out and said the players let Hurzeler down today, which suggests respect ?
More like embarrassment on his part for a totally inept individual performance. The worse player on the pitch. Slow..immobile...caught out of position...going to ground over and over again. Sad to see the demise of a once solid, reliable player.

Luton away, Roma away. At least we kept those to four. 😫
Luton away felt as bad or possibly worse than this given Luton weren’t exactly a CL side. Losing by five at Villa last season didn’t feel much better than losing by seven at Forest, not sure why people get so fixated on the specific number of goals shipped when a thrashing is a thrashing. And there were quite a few last season!

Funny that because - and I’m not calling you out personally here - until Forest the big complaint was that Fabian couldn’t beat teams worse than us!

All fair enough but still not convinced about coming back strongly from this, whatever the truths are behind it. It seems (at this stage) that it will take more than 'Huërzler learning PL.' I agree about not over-reacting too. But if the rest of this month goes bad then I think we will be heading for more turbulent changes.

Yes, I am conscious that putting so much emphasis on a 2-goal distinction may seem pedantic but I really can't think of an example of 7-0 just being a bad day at the office. I don't think any of the Albion players or coaches who played yesterday will ever forget this and the impact it could have on the morale of the players could be substantial.

I really hope that a solid performance next week makes me feel embarrassed about my over-reaction.

I guess 6-0 could go either way depending on the circumstances but I don't think it has the psychological significance of 7-0.

We got the same number of points from our game on Saturday as Villa, Newcastle and Bournemouth.

I rate Fab, and like the moves the club are making for the future of our squad, both in and out.
He's experienced an injury ravaged season with only 24 league games at his new club.
Wins against Man City, Man United (twice), Newcastle, Spurs, Ipswich and Bournemouth. And we've only lost 6 league games.

We're all hurting, but we aren't as bad as the result at Forest.
A quality centre-half and some cover at left-back, and we're an okay top half Premier League side who can challenge for Europe.

We've had a disappointing season and are currently sitting 10th.
It's going to get better, not worse.

Dave and his mate don't know what they're talking about.

I genuinely believe that the starting eleven next week, will perform out of their skins and respond positively to the freak result, yesterday, in a similar way Forest responded to a shock mauling last week.

Everything ran for Forest yesterday. The score could have been anything really, but on another day we lose 5-2 or something and it's not quite as gutting.
I was at the Villa tonking last year and that could just as easily have finished 7-0.
